Instructions for Learn & Have Fun during the Holidays

· All assignments have been carefully planned in such a way that students continue
the learning process during vacations, using a variety of interesting activities.
· Parents are expected to explain each homework to the child.
· Students are expected to bring back their charts / posters and other projects to
school after the holidays.
· All activities / projects must be the work of the child. Parental help and guidance
to be provided only where indicated / needed.
· Where a particular movie / book is not available, another movie / book of
educational value may be picked up.
· All creative work (book reports, essays, sentences) should be the work of the
child.
· It is mandatory for students to practice a page of handwriting twice a week.
· Students should use loose sheets to do these assignments / activities except where
indicated otherwise.
· The syllabus covered so far during the 1st Term should be revised thoroughly
during summer holidays.
· Students should make their own scrap book (parents to help the children).
· With your child, read Urdu or English stories. Ask the child to repeat the story to
you in his own words to develop listening and speaking skills.

Do all written work on loose sheets.
1. Write the names of days of the week and months in a year.
2. Create a Feelings Poster. Draw faces or paste pictures to show different feelings. Write
the feeling word below each drawing or picture.
3. Write about how a rainbow is formed. How many colours does the rainbow have? Draw
it and write the colours of a rainbow in the correct order.
4. Write a meal diary for a week. In a table like the one below, write the names of the food
you eat at different meal times.

3. NSPM, Workbook 2A pgs 78-80 Qs 1-3, pgs 82-84 Qs 6-10, pgs 86-88 Qs 13-16, to be
done on the Workbook.
4. Make a scrap book about Time, make clocks to show the following times:
6 o'clock, 8:30, 10:15 and 4:45. Ask your parents to help you.
Science
1. Name at least ten living things around you and write where they usually live.(these can be
birds, animals or plants )
2. Ask your parents to show you the electric bill for the month of June. Note down the
amount in your notebook. Be careful and vigilant to reduce the amount of bill. Write
measures through which electricity can be saved and note down the amount again in the
next month. Have you achieved your target?
Measures to be taken for example:-

a. Switch off the extra lights
b. Switch off the fans / AC when nobody is in the room.
c. Do not press your clothes during peak hours. (what are the peak hours? Find out
the answer)
3. Draw your favourite dress and colour it.
