What is an advertisement?
Advertising is a message

/ service / idea.
These messages are shown to
02 the public via the media by
means of newspapers,
magazines, radio, television,
billboard, flyers etc.
What type of individuals or entities utilize
advertisements and for what purposes?
Various entities, including
01 brands, companies and
organizations, make use of
advertisements.
Advertising helps companies, brands
02 and organizations to: generate
awareness, expand reach and make
their brand name more recognizable
to customers.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Each team will randomly draw ONE well known product or brand.
The team then needs to showcase their advertising skills by crafting a unique and catchy jingle that
represents their brand.
All teams have 5 minutes to compose their jingle.
The teams also need to create ONE ‘signature dance move’ with their jingle.
NB! No foul language OR inappropriate language or behavior is encouraged.
Teams that do not adhere to the rule will be disqualified immediately.
The team with the best jingle wins! Your teacher will decide which team is the
winner. GOODLUCK!!!

TARGET MARKET LOGO
audience that the advert is Picture / graphic used as an
aimed at. e.g. young people, identifying symbol. Acts as signature
parents, students for a brand

THE AIDA MODEL
Something used to attract the reader’s
attention. E.g. picture, bold typed words,
white spaces, ad’s size.
Some information, e.g. details, price,
availability – creates interest in product
being advertised.
Something used to make you desire the product.
E.g. a celebrity may appear in the ad or the
images/text may suggest you will benefit from the
product.
Something is done to urge you to act
NOW. There may be a time limit on a sale
price or limited supply of the product.
