1. Present Simple vs Present Continuous
Present Simple: Used for habits, routines and facts.
■ Structure: Subject + base verb (add -s for he/she/it)
Examples:
1 I play football every day.
2 She goes to school at 8.
3 They like pizza.
Signal words: always, usually, often, sometimes, every day, on Mondays…
Present Continuous: Used for actions happening now or temporary actions.
■ Structure: Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing
Examples:
1 I am playing a game now.
2 She is studying for the test.
3 We are watching TV.
Signal words: now, at the moment, today…
2. Adverbs of Frequency
Examples: always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly ever, never
■ Position:
1 Before the main verb → I always do my homework.
2 After ‘be’ → He is always late.
Examples of sentences:
1 I usually play basketball on weekends.
2 She never eats meat.
3 They often go to the cinema.
3. Vocabulary: Films, Videogames & Hobbies
■ Films: action film, comedy, horror film, sci-fi, cartoon, adventure film
■■ Videogames: console, controller, multiplayer, character, mission, level, score
■ Hobbies: reading, playing football, painting, dancing, swimming, playing guitar, watching TV
4. Prepositions & Collocations
1 be interested in → I’m interested in music.
2 be keen on → She’s keen on basketball.
3 be good at → He’s good at drawing.
4 be bad at → I’m bad at singing.
More sentences:
1 I’m interested in playing the guitar.
2 He’s good at playing football.
5. There is / There are
■ There is = singular | There are = plural
1 There is a dog in the garden.
2 There are three cats on the sofa.
3 There isn’t a pen.
4 There aren’t any books.
6. Personal & Object Pronouns
I → me | You → you | He → him | She → her | It → it | We → us | They → them
Examples of sentences:
1 I like Tom. Tom likes me.
2 She is helping him.
3 They know us.
7. WH- Questions
1 What – What are you doing?
2 Where – Where do you live?
3 When – When is your birthday?
4 Why – Why are you sad?
5 Who – Who is your best friend?
6 How – How are you?
■ Structure: Wh- word + auxiliary (do/does/is/are) + subject + verb
8. Like / Love / Hate + Infinitive or -ing
After like/love/hate → infinitive (to + verb) OR verb + ing.
1 I like to play / playing football.
2 She loves to read / reading books.
3 He hates doing homework.
More examples:
1 I love to swim in the summer.
2 They hate waking up early.
3 We like going to the cinema.
