Two basic components of a Computer System

Hardware ▪ Computer hardware includes the physical parts of a


computer, such as the case, central processing unit,
monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer data storage,
graphics card, sound card, speakers and
motherboard.
Software ▪ Software is a collection of instructions that tell
a computer how to work.
▪ Software is used to control a computer.
▪ There are different types of software that can run on a
computer: system software eg. utility software and
operating system, and application software.
