WHAT IS DESCRIPTIVE?

(v) describing something, especially in a detailed, interesting way.

And, WHAT IS DESCRIPTION?

(n) a statement or a piece of writing that tells what something or someone is like.

So, the description text is a text a text which used for tell what things like.

The purpose is to tell or describe a particular things, person , or place. And also, to give information
about person, animals, and things in a descriptive ways.

The generic structure (struktur teks) of descriptive text :

1. Identification (bagian untuk mengenalkan benda/orang/tempat yang ingin dideskripsikan)

2. Description (berisi sifat-sifat atau karakteristik dari benda/orang/tempat yang ingin dideskripsikan)

The language features (unsur kebahasaan) of descriptive text :

1. Simple Present Tense

2. The use of adjectives (Kata sifat)

3. The use of linking verb (to be [am, are, is], seems, looks, likes, has, etc)
