ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON REMEDIATION


GRADE FOUR

I. RATIONALE

“Reading is important, because if you can read, you can learn


anything about everything and everything about anything”, - Tomie dePala
Dolores Central School has successfully implemented the National
Reading Program (NRP) across the four quarters of the School Year 2024-2025.
The Program aims to improve reading skills and foster a love for reading among
students.
The program is designed to provide the learners the reading and writing
opportunities, especially those who were marked as non-readers or at a frustration
level as shown in the result of the pre-assessment (Phil-IRI) conducted in each
grade level. The pupils identified as the beneficiaries of the program are expected
to attend the remedial class conducted by the class adviser in a specific period.
It is the goal of the program to encourage the students to become readers
so they can feel the pleasure of reading, develop enthusiasm in reading and an
excellent way of forestalling reading loss to those learners whose memory has not
yet been fully develop.

II. OBJECTIVES

 To enhance reading comprehension and fluency among students.


 Develop critical thinking and analytical skills through reading and
encourage reading habits and promote literacy

III. ACTIVITIES

a) Conduct pre-assessment (Phil-IRI)


b) Analyze results to identify struggling readers
c) Identify Struggling Reader pupils
d) Meeting with the parents
e) Prepare Curriculum Matrix
f) Prepare and reproduce instructional materials
g) Conduct Remedial Reading
h) Administer Mid-Assessment
i) Monitor progress of the learners
j) Conduct post assessment
k) Evaluate and Analyze Results

IV. ISSUES AND CONCERNS

V. SUGGESTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS

a) The remediation program is effective, this must be sustained and


conducted rigidly every school year for the learners to improve their
reading skills.
b) There should be frequent communication with parents that must be done.
This can be through sending letters, texts/chat or through social media or
face to face. This will help the parents to be aware of the status of their
children and will help them guide and support their child at home.
