General Instructions:
1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1-20 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each.
4. In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carry 02
marks each.
5. In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks
each.
6. In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05 marks
each.
7. In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study-based questions carrying 4 marks each
with sub-parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks.
8. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of section B,
2 Questions of section C and 2 Questions of section D has been provided. Internal choice
has been provided in all the 2 marks questions of Section E.

32. Prove that, if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other 5

34. ( (A)From a point P on the ground the angle of elevation of the top of a 10 m tall 5

eyes of the girl at any instant is 60°. After some time, the angle of elevation
reduces to 30°. Find the distance travelled by the balloon during the interval.

35. 200 logs are stacked in the following manner: 20 logs in the bottom row, 19 in the 5
next row, 18 in the row next to it, and so on (see the Figure given below). In how
many rows are the 200 logs placed, and how many logs are in the top row?

36. The adventure ridge tent is made using durable, waterproof fabric to withstand
harsh weather conditions. These tents are commonly used in mountainous
regions. One such tent is shown in the figure below, featuring two triangular
sides and three rectangular panels. Alongside, an image of the fabric layout
placed on graph paper is provided. Using this information, answer the following
questions.

(i) Find the distance between the points R and U. 1


(ii) What are the coordinates of the midpoint of the line segment joining the points M 1
and L?
(iii) (A) If a point 𝐴(𝑥, 𝑦) is equidistant from points U and K, then find a relation 2
between x and y.

37. A brooch is a small piece of jewellery which has a pin at the back so it can be
fastened on a dress, blouse or coat.
Designs of some brooches are shown below. Observe them carefully.

Design A: Brooch A is crafted using silver wire shaped into a circle with a
diameter of 28 mm. Additionally, four diameters are made with the wire,
dividing the circle into eight equal sections.

Design B: Brooch B features two colors: gold and silver. The inner circle is made
of silver, with a circumference of 44 mm. Surrounding it is a uniform gold border,
3 mm wide all around

(i) Refer to Design A: What is the total length of the silver wire required? 1

(ii) Refer to Design A: Find the area of each sector of the brooch. 1

(iii) (A) Refer to Design B: What is the circumference of the outer(golden) part? 2

OR

(B) A boy is playing with Brooch B, rolling it along its edge. How many complete 2
revolutions will it make to cover a distance of 80𝜋 mm?

38. A man is seated in a helicopter positioned at a height from which he has a clear
view of the entire garden. The garden is rectangular in shape with a pond of
diameter 2 m as shown in the figure. There is a semi-circular concrete patio at one
end and two flower beds at the other two corners as shown. The remaining area
has beautiful, lush green grass. The man drops a ball from the helicopter.
