E-Mail (Electronic Mail)

E-mail means Electronic Mail.


It is a way of sending and receiving messages, documents, pictures, and other files
through the internet.
E-mails are faster, cheaper, and more reliable than traditional letters.
To use e-mail, you must have an email account from an email service provider
like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or Outlook.

Gmail (Google Mail) is a free e-mail service provided by Google.
It allows users to send and receive e-mails, attach files, and communicate easily
online.

Main Parts of an E-mail Message


When you open Gmail and click Compose, you’ll see several fields. Here’s what
they mean:

2. Inbox
o Stores all received messages.
3. Sent Mail

4. Drafts
o Stores unsent messages so you can finish and send them later.
5. Attachments
o Add documents, pictures, or files to your message using the paperclip
icon.
6. Reply, Reply All, and Forward
o Reply → respond to one sender.
o Reply All → respond to everyone who received the email.
o Forward → send a received email to someone else.
7. Cc and Bcc
o Cc (Carbon Copy): used when you want others to see the email but
it’s not directly to them.
o Bcc (Blind Carbon Copy): used when you don’t want others to see
who else got the message.
8. Search Bar
o Helps you find old emails quickly by typing a word, name, or date.
9. Labels (Folders)
o Used to group and organize messages (e.g., “Work,” “School,”
“Personal”).
