Email Response: Making New Friends
Email Response: Making New Friends
From: Sheila
Hi…………,
Thanks for getting in touch. Last weekend I celebrated the end of exams and I decided to invite
a few friends round to my house to watch a movie and have some pizza.
First, I asked Cara, my best friend. Next we planned who else to invite. She suggested I should
invite Alfie and George, who are always good fun. I agreed and I added them to my list. Just
then, I noticed the new girl in our class. She was very quiet and she didn’t really speak to
anyone. To be honest, I thought she was a bit boring. But I also thought of inviting her. So I
went over to her and I asked her. ‘I’d love to’, she said.
That weekend we had a great time. Everyone got on well with each other and the new girl,
Bethany, wasn’t boring at all! In fact she made us all laugh a lot and we’re now good friends! In
future I won’t be so quick to judge people before I get to know them. Tell me the last time you
made a new friend. When was it? Where did you meet him/her? What happened? What did
you think about him/her first? What was he/she really like?
Write soon!
Best wishes,
Sheila
