7. A bag contains 15 white and some black balls. If the probability of drawing a black
ball from the bag is thrice that of drawing a white ball, find the number of black
balls in the bag ?
8. A game consists of tossing a coin 3 times and noting the outcome each time. If
getting the same result in all the tosses is a success, find the probability of losing
the game ?
9. A box contains 125 shirts of which 110 are good, 12 have minor defects and 3
have major defects. Ram Lal will buy only those shirts which are good while
Naveen will reject only those which have major defects. A shirt is taken out at

15. Rahul and Ravi planned to play Business ( board game) in which they were
supposed to use two dice.

1. Ravi got first chance to roll the dice. What is the probability that he got the sum of
the two numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is 8?
2. Rahul got next chance. What is the probability that he got the sum of the two
numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is 13?
3. Now it was Ravi’s turn. He rolled the dice. What is the probability that he got the
sum of the two numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is less than or equal
to 12?
