UNIT 2: I ALWAYS GET UP EARLY. HOW ABOUT YOU?


Period 9: Lesson 2 – 1, 2, 3
I. Objectives
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use adverbs of frequency and
the times.

- Ss’s book, pictures, ebook.....
IV. Procedures

1. Warm up
- Write the name of activities base on
pictures. (Divide Ss into 3 big groups)
- Ss play games.
- Give a gift for the best group.
2. Presentation 1. Look, listen and repeat
- Guide Ss to look at the section 1 on
page 14, then asks them to identify the
characters in the dialogues.
- Ss look at and identify the characters
- Ss to listen and repeat.
- Guide Ss to read, then ask some Ss to
practise in pairs.
3. Practice 2. Point and say
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures on page
14, ask them to identify the images in
the pictures in the part 2.
?/ How many parts are there? ( four)
?/ Does he/ she study E / ...?
- Ss listen and answer the questions.
- Play the tape first.
- Now look at picture a and make an
example:
S1: How often do you study with a
partner?
S2: I study with a partner everyday/

- Ask Ss to look at each picture and
give the new words. Explain them:
once, twice, three times, ...
- Guided Ss to read all new words * New words
aloud. + once
- Ask some Ss to read them in front of + twice
the whole class + three times/ ...
- Guide Ss to practice with a partner + look for
3’ with other pictures.
- Ask one or two students control all
pairs to speak aloud. Then they can
compare together.
- Explain new sentence: How often ..?
and how to answer it. Ss pay attention
to adverbs of frequency.
- Give the new form: * Form
- Comments if possible. A: How often ________ ?
- Ss practice in pairs using all pictures. B: I ____________
Then copy down new form:
4. Production 3. Let’s talk
- Guide Ss to ask and answer questions
about their daily routines.
- Ask Ss to look at the questions in part
3 on page 14.
- Ask Ss to give the meaning of each
question if necessary.
- Show a sub- board that written two
questions in part 3 .
1. What do you do in the morning/ ... ?
2. How often do you ....?
- Guide one student to practise with the
teacher as an example.
- Ask Ss to work in groups of six.
Group leader guides how to speak.
- Ss work in groups of six.
- Go around the class and help some
poor students.
5. Homelink
- Learn the new form.
- Guide Ss to practise at home.
