Abstract
The Automatic Traffic Signal Control System is designed to optimize
traffic flow at urban intersections by utilizing real-time vehicle detection and
intelligent signal management. The system employs four ESP32-CAM modules
to capture live images from each road lane. These images are processed using the
YOLOv5 deep learning model running on Google Colab to detect and count
vehicles accurately. Based on the vehicle count, an ESP32 Dev Kit dynamically
controls the signal timing for each lane, ensuring efficient movement and
minimizing congestion. The system integrates with the Blynk IoT platform for
real-time data visualization, vehicle count display, and manual emergency control
such as ambulance priority. This innovative approach reduces waiting time,
improves traffic efficiency, and provides a scalable and smart solution for modern
cities.
