To learn how to create a new worksheet, enter different types of data (text, dates, numbers, and
alphanumeric values), save the worksheet, and navigate through it using keyboard shortcuts and
menus.
2. Objectives
By the end of this experiment, students will be able to:
1. Create a new worksheet in Excel.
2. Enter text, numeric, alphanumeric, and date values.
3. Save and reopen the worksheet.
4. Navigate through cells using keyboard shortcuts.
5. Use menus and mouse to move across the worksheet.

4. Theory
4.1 Excel Worksheet
A worksheet consists of rows and columns forming cells. Each cell has an address (e.g., A1, B3).
4.2 Types of Data Entered in Excel
1. Text (Labels):
Example → “Name”, “City”, “Product A”
2. Numbers:
Example → 120, 4.5, 8000
3. Dates:
Example → 12/11/2024, 01-Jan-2025
4. Alphanumeric Values:
Example → A101, ID20, MKT45
5. Procedure
Step 1: Create a New Worksheet
1. Open Microsoft Excel.
2. Click File → New → Blank Workbook.
A new worksheet will appear.
Step 2: Enter Various Types of Data
Enter the following data into cells:
