Lesson outline:
Target Review – Before Learning (10 minutes):
Students review targets.
Teacher reinforces expectations for research, creativity, and
participation.
Starter Activity – Gallery Walk Reflection (15 minutes):
Students display selected images from their museum visit (printed
or on iPads).
Walk around and note:
o Effective composition and storytelling
o Objects or details that stand out historically
Whole-class discussion: what makes images engaging and
meaningful
Research Task – Deepening Historical Knowledge (30 minutes):
Research additional context for the chosen museum and period:
o Historical events, daily life, important figures
o Key artefacts or objects from museum notes/photos
o Historical interpretations to enhance storytelling
Notes can be bullet points, annotated diagrams, or visual mind
maps
Teacher circulates to support students and check understanding
Break / Transition (5 minutes)
Storyboarding – Planning the Media Narrative (40 minutes):
Create a storyboard for the multimedia project:
o Sequence images, sketches, captions
o Decide media format (photo essay, slideshow, short video)
o Add notes on composition, lighting, mood
Annotate storyboard with key historical facts and storytelling ideas
Peer feedback on clarity and narrative flow
Target Review – After Learning / Plenary (10 minutes):
Students review targets.
