Introduction
The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Chuvachuchu has always prioritized youth
education and community welfare. While the barangay has seen growth in population and
activity, it also faces environmental challenges such as litter, clogged drainage, loss of trees, and
plants. Through the project“Green Change: Youth-Led Tree Planting and Environmental
Cleanup” the SK seeks to face the issue the barangay is facing issues. This initiative combines
environmental action and youth leadership, ensuring that the next generation becomes open-
minded and cares for the environment. With the support of (Funding Agency Kinemerut), this
project will directly improve the cleanliness of our barangay.
Rationale
Barangay Kinemerut is getting bigger, but it also comes with big problems for our environment.
We’ve got issues like litter, clogged drainage, and not enough trees and plants. These problems
can be harmful to our health and safety. Our barangay eme eme is facing several environmental
problems that affect our surroundings. The lack of trees that cause hotter temperatures and poor
air quality. These conditions can attract mosquitoes and other pests, causing health risks to
people. Without immediate action, our environment will continue to worsen.
The “Green Change” project is all about getting the youth involved in tree planting and cleaning
up our community. We want to show everyone how important it is to take care of our
environment. By getting young people to join in, we can help them feel responsible for our
barangay and encourage them to plant trees. Tree planting and clean-up activities are very
helpful to maintain environmental sustainability by reducing pollution and improving air quality.
It also raises community awareness to people in our barangay and creates healthier, greener and
cleaner surroundings. This project is not only an action against environmental issues but also a
long-term investment in building a more resilient community.
Project Description
Objective of the Project
1. To involve the youth in helping the environment through tree planting and clean-up activities.
2. To make the community greener and cleaner by planting trees and reducing waste.
3. To encourage teamwork, responsibility, and care for nature among the youth.
Action Plan
1. Awareness & Gathering of Youth
The project will unfold like a cycle of growth. It will begin with gathering the youth, not just to
give instructions but to plant awareness in their minds about caring for nature.
2. Tree Planting and Cleanup
Once prepared, they will take action by planting saplings in selected areas and cleaning the
surroundings to bring back order and freshness to the barangay.
3. Symbol of Care
Each tree planted and every piece of trash collected will serve as a sign of the youth’s care for
the environment.
4. Monitoring and Maintenance
To make sure the effort continues, the SK and volunteers will return every two weeks to water
the trees, monitor their growth, and keep the community clean through follow-up activities.
Timeline
Planning & Coordination 1 Week
Recruitment & Orientation 1 Week
Tree Planting 1 Day
CleanUp Drive 1 Day
Awareness Campaign 1 Month (On Going)
Monitoring & Evaluation 3 Months
Expected Outcome
Increased tree cover in the community, providing shade and improving air quality, and trees
provide many benefits to our ecosystem, such as shelter when people rest. Reduced litter and
pollution in public areas, creating beautiful views of people walking by and a more pleasant
environment for residents.
How the outcome will be evaluated
The outcome of the project Green Change: Youth-Led Tree Planting and Environmental
Cleanup will be evaluated by checking both the activities done and their results. Right after the
project, we will count the number of trees planted, see how many youth participated, and
measure the amount of garbage collected during the cleanup. We will also take pictures and
make simple reports to show the progress.
For the following months, we will visit the areas where the trees were planted to see how many
survived and if they are growing well. We will also observe if the places cleaned are being
maintained by the community. Lastly, we will ask feedback from residents to know if they
noticed improvements in the cleanliness of the barangay and if they became more aware of the
importance of caring for the environment.
