Part I. Lesson Notes
1. Teaching with Traditional Technology
- Use of chalkboards, textbooks, charts, flashcards, overhead projectors, and
printed modules.
- Teacher-centered instruction.
- Strength: familiar, low-cost, and accessible.
- Limitation: less interactive and may not fully engage digital-native learners.
2. Teaching with Modern Technology
- Use of computers, projectors, tablets, online platforms (Google Classroom,
Zoom), and educational apps (Kahoot, Canva, Padlet, Flipgrid).
- Encourages student-centered learning and collaboration.
- Strength: interactive, engaging, and adaptable to different learning styles.
- Limitation: requires internet access and digital literacy.
3. ISTE Standards for Educators
Educators are expected to be:
1. Learner – Continually improves practice by learning from and with others.
2. Leader – Advocates for effective technology use.
3. Citizen – Inspires students to contribute responsibly in the digital world.
4. Collaborator – Works with colleagues and students using digital tools.
5. Designer – Creates authentic, learner-driven activities and environments.
6. Facilitator – Encourages student ownership and personalized learning.
7. Analyst – Uses data to support learning and provide feedback.
