Biographical Context - This refers to the connection between
the author’s life and the literary text. The author’s personal
experiences, beliefs, and struggles can influence the themes,
characters, or events in their work.

themes of love, romance, abandonment, betrayal, feminism,
and culturalism, which were drawn from her real-life
experiences and her perspective of the world.
Historical Context - This relates to the time period and
ENGLISH 7 QUARTER 1 – A.Y. 2025-2026
historical events during which the literary text was written. It
shows how society, politics, wars, or movements shaped the
content of the work.

were written during the Spanish colonial period in the
Philippines.
Sociocultural Context - This refers to the traditions, values,
customs, and social norms of the society in which the text was
created. It reveals how culture and community life influenced
the story.

role of the youth in shaping the future of the nation.
