Problem Statement 01 - WEB3
Option A : On-Chain Social Media
Platform
Title: Build an On-Chain Social Feed, every like, tip, or comment is a transaction
Problem statement
Make a social DApp where every interaction like, post, like, comment, tip is recorded on the
HeLa chain.
Why this matters
Social platforms today centralize content, attention, and monetization. Recording interactions
on-chain lets creators earn directly, communities build transparent reputation, and users own
their history.
Required features (must-have)
1. Create & Read Posts on-chain
○ Users can create a short post (text ± image hash) and it’s stored/registered on
the chain (or via on-chain pointer to IPFS/Arweave).
2. On-chain Likes & Comments
○ Each like and comment is a transaction recorded so counts are
tamper-resistant.
3. On-chain Tipping
○ Users can tip authors using the platform’s native token or a stablecoin; tips
are on-chain transfers.
4. Frontend Demo
○ A simple web UI to post, like, comment, tip, and view reputation. Deploy on
Hela testnet (or mainnet) and show the contract addresses and example tx
hashes.
Suggested (easy) tech stack
● Smart contracts: Solidity (or language your chain supports)
● Frontend: React + [Link]/[Link] or Hela SDK (if available)
● Storage for large media: IPFS / Arweave (store hashes on-chain)
● Wallets: MetaMask
● Dev tools: Remix / Hardhat / Foundry for contract dev & tests
Deliverables & submission checklist
● Public GitHub repo (or GitLab) with:
○ [Link] with one-paragraph project summary and quick start
○ Contract code + tests
○ Frontend code (link to live demo)
○ Deployment addresses ( testnet/mainnet ) and 3 example tx hashes (post,
like, tip)
○ Short demo video (max 5 minutes) showing flows: post → like → tip →
reputation update
● Live demo URL (hosted on Netlify / Vercel / or direct IPFS gateway)
Option B : Gaming & NFTs (Intermediate)
Title: On-Chain Game: Moves, Trades & Battles that Happen on the Chain
Problem statement
Build a small on-chain game where key game actions (moves, battles, trades) are recorded
as transactions. Use NFTs to represent in-game assets (characters, cards, land) and make
at least one meaningful interaction (battle/trade) fully on-chain.
On-chain gaming provides verifiable ownership, provable scarcity, and composable assets. It
lets players truly own and trade items, and enables new play-to-earn or community
governance models.
Required features
1. NFT asset contract
○ Mintable ERC-721 or similar tokens representing in-game items/characters.
2. On-chain game action
○ A core game mechanic where a move or battle is executed on-chain (e.g.,
submit move tx, resolve battle via contract logic and transfer rewards/NFT
changes).
3. On-chain trades or marketplace
○ Simple trading mechanism (direct swap, auction, or buy/sell) between players
recorded on-chain.
4. Frontend playable demo
○ A UI where players can mint, view inventory, initiate moves/battles, and trade.
5. Game rules documented
○ Clear rulebook in repo describing battle resolution, RNG approach (if any),
and fairness guarantees.
Deliverables & submission checklist
● Public repo with:
○ Contract code + tests (minting, battle resolution, transfer/trade)
○ Frontend + live demo link
○ Deployment addresses and sample tx hashes (mint, battle, trade)
○ README with game rules and how to run/demo
○ Short demo video (max 5 minutes) demonstrating mint → battle → trade
● Art & metadata (IPFS links) for NFTs
● OPTIONAL: tokenomics/whitepaper if your game uses in-game token
💻 Problem Statement 02 –
INNOVORTEX 4.0
Title: Design a Platform to Host Hackathons
Context:
With innovation challenges becoming the backbone of talent discovery, there is a growing
need for a dedicated digital ecosystem where institutions, companies, and student
communities can host, manage, and participate in hackathons seamlessly. Existing
platforms often feel cluttered or lack personalization for diverse user needs. Innovortex 4.0
challenges you to reimagine this experience.
Challenge:
Build a hackathon hosting platform (similar to Unstop) that delivers a smooth, intuitive,
and scalable experience for organizers, participants, and judges. Your solution should
streamline end-to-end hackathon management — from registrations to submissions,
evaluations, and results.
Key Focus Areas:
● ✅ Hackathon Discovery: Central hub to explore upcoming hackathons and
challenges.
● ✅ Easy Registration & Teaming: User-friendly signup, team creation, and
participant management.
● ✅ Submission Workspace: Secure, centralized portal to upload projects,
presentations, and code.
● ✅ Judge & Mentor Dashboard: Role-based access for evaluations, scoring, and
feedback.
● ✅ Communication Hub: Announcements, FAQs, and participant-organizer
interaction tools.
● ✅ Results & Analytics: Automated leaderboards, shortlisting, and performance
insights.
Goal:
To design a modern, engaging, and reliable hackathon platform that makes it easier for
organizers to conduct events and for participants to showcase their skills without barriers.
Bonus Features (Optional):
● AI-powered plagiarism checker & auto-evaluation support.
● Gamification elements like badges, ranks, and streaks.
● Integration with GitHub, Figma, and Google Drive for collaboration.
● Resume/talent showcase profile for participants.
