Point, Lines, Rays, Segments, Midpoints,
Bisectors, Perpendicular Lines
Segment-
Lines- a set of extended portion of a line
Point- A physical location points that go on forever in that has both a
that has no length, width, both directions starting and an
or depth. It has zero ending point
dimensions and is typically
small
Ray- A portion of a line that starts and
extends forever in one direction
Point, Lines, Rays, Segments, Midpoints,
Bisectors, Perpendicular Lines
Perpendicular lines- two lines,
segments, or rays that form
right angles with one another
( A and C are perpendicular to B
and E)
Midpoint-
center/middle of a
Bisector- cuts a geometric object line segment
( B is the midpoint)
into two of the same objects that
have the same measure

Exterior Angles, Same side Internal angles, and same extiror angles
Same side exterior angles - This is an
angle pair that is on the same side of
the transversal but is on the outside of
the parallel lines. The fact that this EXAMPLE
angle pair is on the outside of the
parallel lines is what makes it different
from the same side interior pair.
Plotting points on a Graph
Plotting points on a graph or coordinate
plane are important points on our geometric
objects. On Graphs, there is an X axis and a Y axis,
The x axis is the line that cuts the graph in half side
to side, and The Y axis is the line that cuts the
graph in half up and down. In graphs there are 4
quadrants, quadrant 1 is ++, quadrant 2 is -+,
quadrant 3 is --, and quadrant 4 +- For example
-2,6 would go on Quadrant 2 because it first has a
negative 2 and a positive 6.
Congruent Figures And Triangles
Two geometric figures are
points, lines, segments,
angles, triangles, polygons,
and more are congruent if
they have the same size and
shape. Now congruent
angles are a bit different,
two angles are congruent if
they have the same degree,
because even if their not as
long as each other, rays go
on forever so as long as they
have the same degree they
are congruent.
Summary of what we learned this unit
In this Unit we learned all about
geometry, different lines and
angles, how to plot points of
graphs, how to incorporate
algebra with geometry, and so
much more. We learned and
understood these concepts
during this unit.
