Dr. Vasumathi Badrinathan


Professor, Department of French Studies, Banaras Hindu University
Dr. Vasumathi holds a PhD in French & Applied Linguistics (University of
Lille 3, France). She specializes in FLE didactics, technology in language
learning, and multilingualism. Recipient of Fulbright and Erasmus Mundus
fellowships, she has been visiting professor in France, Canada, USA, China,
and more. Her publications include a seminal co-edited book on non-native
language teachers and literary translations, such as the Tiruppavai into French.
Decorated as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques by France, she is
also a renowned Carnatic classical vocalist
