ACT 1

INT. HOTEL LOBBY – DAY

Bright, calm lobby. Soft background music.

Mark (Security) stands near the entrance.

Mark
Good afternoon, ma’am, sir.
Welcome to Sunshine Hotel.

(Japanese guests enter, pulling luggage.)

Noah (Concierge)
(smiling)
If you need city tours or dining suggestions,
I’ll be right here.
(Guests nod politely.)

FRONT DESK

Alex:
(Ngumingiti agad, bahagyang yumuko bilang pagbati, professional tone)
Good afternoon! Welcome to Sunshine Hotel. We’re very happy to have you with us today. My
name is Alex, and I’ll be assisting you with your check-in. I hope your journey here was
comfortable.

Mr. Sato:
(Bahagyang yumuko, hawak ang passport, iwas eye contact)
Good afternoon. Yes… thank you. We have a reservation under the name Sato.

Alex:
(Tinanggap ang passport gamit ang dalawang kamay, tumango)
Thank you very much, sir. May I please see your passport for verification?
(Humaharap sa computer, nagta-type)
I see here that you are staying for three nights.

Ms. Tanaka:
(Nakatayo nang tuwid, magalang ang posture)
Yes… that is correct. We are traveling together as a group.

Alex:
(Bahagyang ngumiti, tinitingnan ang screen)
That’s noted, ma’am.
(Huminto sandali, nag-isip)
May I ask if you have any special requests: room preference, bed arrangement, or floor level?

Ms. Tanaka:
(Magalang na bahagyang yumuko)
We requested twin beds… if it is still possible. We understand if there are limitations.

Alex:
(Tumango, mabilis mag-type)
Yes, ma’am. I can see that request here. We’ll do our best to accommodate it.
(Mahinang boses, parang kausap ang sarili)
They seem very quiet… maybe they’re not satisfied?

(Sandaling katahimikan. Ang guests ay nananatiling nakatayo, kalmado. Si Maya ay patuloy

lang sa pag-aayos ng brochures.)
ACT 2

Rina (Housekeeping Supervisor) (passes by near the front desk and sees the guests.)

(Greets the guests before turning to Grace) Ma’am Grace, rooms 201–205 are ready.

Grace
Thank you, Rina.

ACT 3

Alex:
(Mahina)
Okay… just a moment, please.

(Lumabas si Alex mula sa likod ng desk, tumungo sa gilid kung saan nakatayo si Grace na may
hawak na clipboard at si Rina)

Alex:
Ma’am Grace… may I ask you something?

Grace:
(Hindi tumitingin agad, nagbabasa pa ng clipboard)
What is it, Alex?

(habang si Rina ay nakikinig lang sa usapan)

Alex:
Something feels off. They’re very quiet.
They’re not asking questions, and they’re not complaining either.

Grace:
(Tumingin kay Alex, kalmado)
And why does that bother you?

Alex:
Usually, when guests are this quiet, it means there’s a problem.
I’m worried they might not be satisfied.

Grace:
Observe first. Don’t assume.
Not all guests express discomfort the same way.

(Tumango si Alex pero halatang hindi pa kampante. Maya patuloy sa pag-aayos, nakatingin sa
mga brochures. Walang staff ang aalis sa scene.)
ACT 4

(Alex returns to the desk.)

Alex
Sir… is everything alright so far? (Kind of hesitant)

(The guests exchange brief glances due to confusion.)

Mr. Sato
Yes. Everything is fine.

Hiro
We are comfortable, thank you.

(Silence again while guests are still observing the premises.)

(Alex wanted to say something but hesitates and stops herself.)

Maya leans closer to Alex.

Maya
Alex, I think you’re misreading them.

Alex
How? They barely say anything.

Maya
That’s exactly it. Japanese guests are often quiet when they’re comfortable.
For them, silence means respect—not dissatisfaction.

Alex:
So… walang problema?

Maya:
None at all. If there was, they would express it politely.

Act 5

Aiko
(hears the conversation and speaks softly)
We feel respected when service is calm.

(Alex exhales understanding.)

(Ella suddenly steps forward with key cards.)

Ella
Thank you for waiting.
Here are your room keys.

Ms. Tanaka
Thank you for your patience with us.

Kenji
The process feels organized.

Hiro
Yes. Very professional.

Aiko
We appreciate the peaceful atmosphere.

ACT 6

(Liam enters with a luggage cart.)

Liam
Good afternoon.
I’ll assist you to your rooms via the stairs.

(The Tour Coordinator approaches.)

Tour Coordinator
Mr. Sato, I’ll meet you tomorrow morning
for the city tour briefing.

Mr. Sato
Thank you. We will be there.

(The guests move toward the hallway and stairs.)

FINAL LOBBY SCENE

Maintenance Staff passes by.

Maintenance Staff
Front desk, the hallway lights are fixed.

Carlos steps forward.

Carlos
Good recovery, Alex.
You handled the situation well.

Alex
(smiling, confident)
I learned something important today.

Grace
In hospitality,
silence can also speak.

Maya
And listening goes beyond words.

(Camera holds on Alex—calm and professional.)

FADE OUT.
