31. Solve for x: 1/(x + 4) + 1/(x + 3) = 1/6.
32. A sum of ₹700 is to be divided among A, B, C in such a way that A
gets twice of B and B gets twice of C. Find their shares.
33. Draw a graph of the pair of linear equations: x + y = 5, x – y = 1.
Also, find the solution from the graph.

34. Case Study 1 (Real Numbers): A sweets dealer has 360 laddus and
270 barfis. He wants to pack them into boxes such that each box has
equal number of sweets of one type only and the number of boxes is
minimum.
(a) What is the HCF of 360 and 270?
(b) How many laddus will each box contain?
(c) How many barfis will each box contain?
(d) Find the total number of boxes.
(e) Why do we use HCF here instead of LCM?

35. Case Study 2 (Arithmetic Progression): Ravi decides to save ₹50 in


the first week, ₹100 in the second week, ₹150 in the third week and
so on.
(a) Which type of sequence is formed?
(b) Write its common difference.
(c) How much will he save in the 10th week?
(d) Find his savings in the first 20 weeks.
(e) If his target is ₹10,000, will he be able to achieve it in 20 weeks?
36. Case Study 3 (Trigonometry): A boy standing at a point sees the
top of a tree at an angle of elevation of 30°. He walks 20 m towards
the tree and now sees the top at an angle of 60°.
(a) Draw a rough sketch of the situation.
(b) Let the height of the tree be h m. Write expressions using tan 30°
and tan 60°.
(c) Form the equations. (d) Solve to find the height of the tree.
(e) Which trigonometric ratio is used here?
