Review of Related Literature and Studies
In this chapter includes discussion on related and studies of lived
experience of broken family student among senior high school at Puro
National High School In preparing this, researchers search for different
articles, books and other type of media references in the internet. The
researchers will give some information about the topics and their study.
Foreign Studies
A study done in Finland in 2020 found that children with divorced parents
were more likely to follow in their parents’ footsteps and walk on the same
path later in life. This shows that since children learn from their parents, they
will portray similar traits in adulthood. This effect will especially be magnified
in young adulthood when the person is beginning to look for a life partner.
The study suggests that the child who grows into manhood, though
searching for a future partner, will always harbor ill feelings towards
relationships or towards the significant other due to a turbulent past
(Mustonen, 2020).

and family problems bothered them while in school. Having a broken family
also makes the students feel the deprived belongingness and different
compared to other students who have complete and happy. The

anxiety and depression. It can be concluded that broken family relationships
greatly affect students’ attitude towards academic endeavors, most of the
respondents from a broken family faced a great challenge, they experienced
depression, emotional problems, and insecurity with students who have
complete and happy families. Being in a broken family affects their academic
endeavors. They are prone to anxiety, depression, and emotional breakdown
that affects their academic performance. They cannot focus and sometimes
lose interest in studying to the point that their academic performance is
affected.

families are more prone to mental health issues, lower academic
performance, and difficulties in social relationships. The research
