Multi Crew Concepts: 3-Part Assignment


The Multi Crew Concepts course is broken into 3 primary parts; Crew Resource Management, Human
Performance Models, and Multi-Crew Concepts. Using these three primary sections, a 3-part assignment
will follow.

Part 1: Crew Resource Management Case Study

Choose an aviation accident from the provided list. You will play the role of an Aviation Accident and
Incident Investigation Officer.

Objective:

- The classmarker will require you to answer questions based on the following topics;
o Create a summary of the accident or incident
o Conduct a formal investigation focused on identifying the errors in CRM of
the accident or incident

Part 2: Human Models

Using the chosen accident or incident from Part 1, you will continue to play the role of Aviation Accident
and Incident Investigation Officer.

Objective:

- The classmarker will require you to answer questions based on the following topics;
o Describe what errors in CRM took place and what role they played in the
events leading up to the incident or accident
o Choose one of the three models; SHELL, TEM, Swiss Cheese and apply to the
case study

Part 3: Multi-Crew Concepts

Referencing the accident/incident case study and error analysis, students will determine what changes,
mitigation strategies, or new procedures need to be implemented. Students are required to choose one
of the following;

- Provide a brief summary of Pars 1&2, describing the case study chosen and the
CRM/MCC errors identified (NO VIDEOS PERMITTED), describe in your own words
and understanding
- Issue new training material and/or Write a new SOP
- Describe how the new procedure, or policy will help mitigate accidents and incidents
from re-occurring
