Now that we have talked about your pain, I will perform a short assessment to better
understand your problem . Is that okay ?
Patient : Yes that's fine .
Physiotherapist : very well first , I will observe your posture . Please stand near the
examination table.
Patient : Like this?
Physiotherapist : yes, perfect.I notice that your pelvis is slightly tilted forward . Does this
position cause you pain ?
Patient : Yes, it pulls à little in my lower back.
Physiotherapist : Thank you. Now, bend forward slowly and tell me if you feel any pain.
Patient : Yes it pulls à lot here
Physiotherapist : very Good. Next, I will test the mobility of you spine .turn slowly to the right
…then to the left
Patient : To the left, it hurts more.

Physiotherapist : Good morning / Good afternoon


Now that we have finished your assessment,we will start your treatment is that okay ?
Patient : Yes, that's fine.
Physiotherapist : very well. We will begin with gentle mobilization exercices for your lower
back. If at any time you feel strong pain. Stop immediately and let me khon.
Patient :Okay
Physiotherapist : I will show you the first exercice .lie on your back ,bend your knees
slightly,and slowly bring them toward tout chest . Move slowly and breathe deeply.
Patient : Like this ?
Physiotherapist : Yes , perfect. Very Good we will do 5 répétition.

Physiotherapist : Now we will do a small strengthening exercices for your lower back

CONVERSATION-LOWER BACK PAIN

1- STATED OBJECTIVE TO THE PATIENT

Today , our objective is to assess the progress of your lower back pain,correct your exercice
if necessary, and teach you how to prevent the pain from returning.

1-a- welcome and goal reminder

Physiotherapist : Good morning sir, welcome .


How are you today ?
Patient : Good morning, I'm abit better, Thank you
Physiotherapist : very Good. Today de are doing the follow-up of your lower back pain to see
if the treatment is working and if we need to adjust it. Is that okay ?

2-z ÉVALUATION OF PROGRESS

Physiotherapist : since the last session, has the pain decreased, increased or stayed the
same?
Patient : it has decreased a little.
But i still feel pain when i bend forward.
Physiotherapist : On a scale from 0 to 10,how would you rate your pain today ?
Patient :maybe 4 out of 10. Before it was 7
Physiotherapist : that is Good improvement .Did you do the exercises at home as instructed?
Patient : Yes, almost every day.

3- EXERCICES CHECK

Physiotherapist : please show me how you do the back stretching exercice.

Physiotherapist :very Good,but keep your back a bit straighter ans breathe slowly. That
helps avoid overloading the muscles.
4- EXPLANATION + DEMONSTRATION

Physiotherapist :I will remind you why these exercices are important ; they relax the lower
back muscles,they improve blood circulation,and they prevent stiffness from coming back
Now watch me carefully . I will show you the correct movement step by step

Physiotherapist :you see ? First you breathe in,then you bend forward gently, hold for 10
seconds and then come back up slowly.

5- PREVENTION AND ADVICE

Physiotherapist : Avoid carrying heavy loads like market bags or water containers by
bending your back without bending your kness.
When you lift someting bend your kness, keep your back straight, and hold the object close
to your body.
Patient : Okey, I will be careful, especially at the market.

6-CKECKING UNDERSTANDING

Physiotherapist :Can you tell me why it is important to do the exercise every day?
Patient :To relax the muscle, prevent the pain from coming back,and strengthen m'y back.
