EMAILS

An EMAIL is a form of electronic communication that allows individuals and

organizations to send messages quickly and efficiently over the internet. Emails can be used
for a wide variety of purposes, including personal communication, professional
correspondence, marketing, and information sharing. Emails are more often concise and
can include attachments such as documents, images, and links.
.
Important
➢ Craft a clear and concise subject line that summarizes the email’s content.
➢ Organize the email with clear paragraphs and headings if necessary.
➢ Include any necessary attachment and refer to them within the email.
➢ Use straightforward language to convey your message effectively.
➢ Adjust the tone based on the relationship with the recipient and the purpose of the email
(formal for professional settings, informal for personal settings)
➢ Maintain professionalism, especially in business correspondence, and always be
courteous and respectful.

Task-specific success criteria

➢ When sending messages to people who you know put their addresses in the To: field
➢ When sending messages to many people who don't know each other, put their
addresses in the Bcc: field. (‘Bcc´ stands for ‘Blind carbon copy’, and using this field
means that you’re not sharing the addresses with everyone on the email list.)
➢ The work starts with a friendly salutation/greeting.
➢ The first paragraph is general chitchat, including a reference to then previous
correspondence.
➢ The structure of the writing is clear, and the text is easy to read.
➢ The tone is friendly and appropriate for the context.
➢ Some informal expressions, including textese, are acceptable.
➢ The purpose of writing is clear.
➢ There are questions about the recipient or an invitation to write back in the last paragraph.
➢ The email is signed off appropriately.
➢ The register is informal.

Subject: Request for Support on Upcoming Project

Dear Mr. Thompson,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to request your support on a new project our
team is about to undertake.

As you know, we are launching a new marketing campaign for our latest product line, and I
have been assigned the role of project coordinator. Given your extensive experience in digital
marketing and previous success with similar campaigns, your insights and guidance would
be incredibly valuable to our team.

Specifically, I would like to ask for your assistance in the following areas:

1 Strategy Development: Helping to shape the overall strategy and identify key performance
indicators (KPIs) for the campaign.

2 Content Creation: Providing input on the type of content that would resonate most with
our target audience.

3 Performance Analysis: Setting up a framework for tracking the campaign's progress and
making data-driven adjustments.

We are scheduled to start the project next Monday, February 29th, and I would be grateful if
we could have a meeting to discuss your involvement at your earliest convenience. Your
participation would not only enhance the quality of our campaign but also ensure we are
aligned with the company's broader marketing objectives.

Please let me know your availability for a meeting next week. I am flexible with timing and
can adjust my schedule to accommodate yours.

Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to the possibility of working together
and benefiting from your expertise.

Best regards,

Emily Johnson
