6. A car left the home station at 5am and travelled at a speed of 50km/h for the first 90
Minutes and stopped at the rest station for 30 minutes. The car then continued for the next 1
hour, covering a distance of 60km to reach the second stop station. After resting for 1 hour, the
car returned to the home station, arriving at 12pm.

(a) Draw a distance – time graph for the journey of the car. (Use the graph sheet).
(b) Find the distance covered in the first 90 minutes.
(c) How long did the car rest during the inward and return journey.
(d) Find the total distance travelled by the car.
(e) Calculate the speed of the car during the return journey.
(f) Find the average speed for the whole journey.
