IN
MULTI-MEDIA
Introduction
An animator is an artist who creates images, known as frames, which give an
illusion of movement called animation when displayed in rapid sequence.
Animators can work in a variety of fields including film, television, and
video games. Animation is closely related to film making and like
filmmaking is extremely labor-intensive, which means that most significant
works require the collaboration of several animators
Objectives:
1. Demonstrate the knowledge of uses and applications of Animation.
2. Demonstrate the knowledge of principles of Animation
3. Demonstrate the knowledge of basics compositing
4. Demonstrate the knowledge of various features of 2D Animation
5. Demonstrate the knowledge of the concept of 3D production pipeline
6. Demonstrate the concept of bouncing balls and various other steps
of animation
7. Demonstrate the knowledge of project setting and animation rendering
Adobe Premier Pro
Adobe Premiere Pro is a video-editing software program used by
professional Video Editors, YouTubers, and home movie makers to create
stunning visual media. Users employ this program to modify clips shot with
a single or multiple cameras, enrich their videos with soundtracks and sound
effects, and create vibrant animations and title cards for their productions.
Part of the larger Adobe Creative Cloud and compatible with hundreds of
other video editing programs, Adobe Premiere Pro allows users to create
quality films and videos without the blockbuster price.
Overview of workspace:
The main window in Premiere Pro is called the Application Window. Panels
are organized in this window in an arrangement called a Workspace. The
default workspace contains panel groups and free-floating panels.
You can customize a workspace by arranging panels in the layout that best
suits your working style. As you rearrange panels, the other panels resize
automatically to fit the window. You can create and save several custom
workspaces for different tasks.
Activity-1:
Create a video using Premier Pro
1. Launch Premiere Pro and click New Project in the Start screen or
choose File > New > Project from the main menu. In the New Project
dialog box, name your project and click Browse to choose where you
want to save it. Click OK when you’re done.
2. Get familiar with the tools to navigate among the workspace panels.
Import video from the computer and create the initial sequence.
3. Select a video you want to import, right-click and choose Import from the
menu. Repeat this step for each video you want to [Link] and
rearrange clips in the Timeline by using the razor or trim tools.
4. Create onscreen titles in Premiere Pro. Adjust fonts, size, and color in
the Essential Graphics Panel.
5. Use cutting, moving, and stretching tools to the clips in the Timeline.
Apply special effects, and adjust color using the Color panel.
6. Drag music or voiceover tracks to audio tracks below your video.
Adjust volume levels, add fades, or convenient pre-sets.
7. Go to File>Export>Media. Choose your format, presets, and click Export
Adobe Soundbooth
Adobe Soundbooth CS5 is special software that has been designed to make
editing audio files as smooth and simple as possible. The software is an
updated version of Adobe Soundbooth CS4 and promises a number of
enhanced editing features along with some brand new ones. One of the great
things about Adobe Soundbooth CS5 is that the software is compatible with a
wide range of different types of audio files. The software also manages to
pack in plenty of features that allow users to edit the audio file in various
different ways such as reducing static and background noise, cutting out
unwanted sections of the file to make it smoother and even adding a series of
different types of sound effects and samples so that the flow seamlessly.
Application of Soundbooth
• Fast cut, copy and paste functions using clip-based tools Unlimited undo
Layers in the Undo History panel provides the flexibility to experiment
without committing changes.
• Audio clean up allows for detecting and fixing common flaws in audio files
such as hisses, hums, buzzing, crackling and pops.
• Mix Paste feature allows two existing audio assets to be combined quickly.
• Edits can be made within the display using tools similar to those in Adobe
Photoshop.
ACTIVITY- 2:
AUDIO EDITING USING ADOBE SOUNDBOOTH
1. Import the audio file to Soundbooth editing window
2. Reopen the waveform view by clicking and dragging the split
bar downward.
3. The Effects panel is the next panel in the group. Add effects, we
can essentially create a set of effects that are listed in this panel.
4. The zoom navigator is located directly below the popup menu and
provides a view of the entire waveform.
5. We can use the main Editor window to zoom in on just a range of the
waveform in greater detail. To zoom in or out, press the + (plus) or –
(minus) keys. To return to 100% view, click the Zoom Out Full button to the
right of the zoom navigator.
6. The Set Fade in < and Set Fade Out buttons in the upper left and right
corners of the Editor window allow to set up fades at the beginning and end
of the audio clip. Click and drag the Fade In Point to the right to set up a
fade in the beginning of the audio track.
7. At the bottom of the Editor panel is a numeric Time slider, Previous and
Next Marker buttons, Stop and Play buttons, Loop Playback, Record Open
Dialog, Fade in and Fade Out buttons, a volume adjustment feature for the
entire track, and a Louder button to make certain parts of the audio louder
Autodesk Maya
Autodesk Maya, commonly shortened to just Maya, is a 3D computer
graphics application that runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, originally
developed by Alias and currently owned and developed by Autodesk. It is
used to create digital assets for interactive 3D applications (including video
games), animated films, TV series, and visual effects.
Maya animation is a powerful animation tool. These tools give the freedom
to animate any attribute of an object and the control to successfully transform
joints and bones, IK handles, and models over time. Graph editor, trax editor
and dope sheet, these are the main animation editors in Maya. The Dope
Sheet is another animation editor in Maya that is similar to the Graph Editor.
Instead of displaying curves, the Dope Sheet displays key times as coloured
rectangles and edit event timing in blocks of key frames and synchronize
motion to a sound file. Trax editor mainly helps the animator to do nonlinear
animation
Activity 3:
