The given diagrams illustrate the layout of a public library twenty years ago and
how it has changed in the present day.

Overall, the library has undergone significant modifications to accommodate


modern needs. While traditional elements such as book sections remain, new
facilities like a café, computer room, and self-service machines have been
introduced.

Twenty years ago, the library had a conventional design with separate sections
for adult fiction and non-fiction books. The reading room was dedicated to
newspapers and magazines, and there was a section for CDs, videos, and
computer games. The central area consisted of tables and chairs, while an
enquiry desk was located near the entrance for assistance with tickets and book
returns.

At present, the library has been modernized to enhance user experience. The
section for CDs, videos, and computer games has been replaced with a
storytelling area and sofas. A new lecture room has been added, and the reading
room has been converted into a computer room. The children’s book section has
been split into a children’s fiction area and a storytelling space. Additionally,
self-service machines have replaced the enquiry desk, and a café has been
introduced to the right side of the library.

In short, the library has transformed into a more technology-driven and user-
friendly space, replacing outdated features with modern facilities to better serve
its visitors.
