Paragraph styles : control all aspects of a paragraph’s appearance, such as
text alignment, tab stops, line spacing, and borders, and can include
character formatting.

Styles in the Styles and Formatting Window
(LibreOffice Writer)
The Styles and Formatting window (also called
Sidebar → Styles) provides several categories of
styles. These styles help maintain a consistent and
professional look throughout your document.
LibreOffice Writer includes five main categories of styles:
1. Paragraph Styles
These control the appearance of entire paragraphs.
They define:
• Font type, size, color
• Alignment (left, right, center, justified)
• Line spacing
• Indents and spacing
• Numbering and outline levels
Examples: Text Body, Heading 1, Heading 2, Title, Subtitle, List Paragraph
Use them to maintain consistent formatting in long documents.
2. Character Styles
These apply formatting
to selected text within a
paragraph without
affecting the whole
paragraph.
They define:
• Font variations
(bold, italic, small
caps)
• Color
•
• Highlighting
• Language for spell-check
Examples: Emphasis, Strong Emphasis, Source Text, Internet Link
Use when you want to apply consistent inline formatting.
3. Frame Styles
Used for formatting frames, such as:
• Text frames

• Size and positioning
• Columns
Examples: Frame, Graphics, Marginalia
Use when inserting images or separating content blocks.
4. Page Styles
Control the layout of entire pages.
They define:

Examples: Default Page Style, First Page, Right Page, Left Page
Use for managing multi-page document layout consistently.
5. List Styles
Used for bullet and numbering formatting.
They define:

Writer. Ans. We can create New (Custom) Styles in two
ways
1. Creating a new style from a selection :
1. Open the Styles and Formatting window and choose the
type of style you want to create.
2. In the document, select the item you want to save as a style.
3. In the Styles and Formatting window, click on the New
Style from Selection icon
4. After Clicking on New Style from Selection, create style
dialog box appear.
5. Write the name for the new style and click on OK
Q3. Write the steps to consolidate data of two sheets in Open
Office Calc . Ans. 1. Open a new file in Libre Office Calc and write the
following data :

dialog box appear

7. After adding both the range and selecting the cell where we want the
result, click on OK button

How to Record a Macro in LibreOffice Calc
1. Enable Macro Recording (if not already enabled)
Macro recording is disabled by default in LibreOffice.
To enable it:
1. Open Tools → Options.
2. Navigate to LibreOffice → Advanced.
3. Check the box “Enable macro recording (limited)”.
4. Click OK and restart LibreOffice if required.
2. Start Recording a Macro
1. Open your Calc spreadsheet.
2. Go to Tools → Macros → Record Macro.
3. A small “Stop Recording” dialog will appear.
4. Perform the actions you want to record (typing, formatting, selecting
cells, etc.).
5. When done, click Stop Recording.
3. Save the Macro
1. After stopping, a dialog appears showing where to save the macro.
2. Choose:
o My Macros → to save globally, or
o This document → to save only in this spreadsheet
3. Navigate to Standard → Module1 (or create a new module).
4. Enter a name for your macro.
5. Click Save.
4. Run the Recorded Macro
1. Go to Tools → Macros → Run Macro.
2. Navigate to your macro in the selected library/module.
3. Select it and click Run.
Optional: Assign the Macro to a Shortcut or Button
For keyboard shortcut:
1. Go to Tools → Customize.
2. Select the Keyboard tab.
3. Choose a shortcut and assign your macro.
For a toolbar button:
1. Go to Tools → Customize.
2. Select the Toolbars tab.
3. Add a new command and link it to your macro.

Following steps create a macro that performs paste special with multiply.
1. Open a new file in calc.
2. Enter the following data.
3. Select cell A3, which contains the number 3, and copy the value to the
clipboard.
4. Select the range A1:C3. 5. Use Tools > Macros > Record Macro to
start the macro recorder.
5. The Record Macro dialog is displayed with a stop recording button.
6. Use Edit > Paste Special to open the Paste Special dialog.
7. Set the operation to Multiply and click OK. The cells are now
multiplied by 3.
8. Click Stop Recording to stop the macro recorder. The
[Link] Basic Macros dialog opens and save the macro at
specified place with a particular name.

disabilities. To enable Sticky Keys, select Use Sticky Keys.

Filter Keys :
Filter Keys is a feature of Microsoft Windows. It is an accessibility
function that tells the keyboard to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes,
making typing easier for people with hand tremors.
• To enable Filter Keys, check Use Filter Keys.
• Click Settings under Filter Keys and check “Ignore Repeated Keystrokes”.
• Click Apply.
• Click OK.

Select the Display Tab. A window with options to configure accessibility
options for display is displayed with option.

MouseKeys is an accessibility feature that assists people who have
