CONDITIONAL CODING

I: If any word starts with a vowel and ends with a consonant, then interchange signs of 1st and last
letter.

II: If any word starts with a consonant and ends with a vowel, then interchange sign of 2nd and 3rd
letter.

III: If any word starts with a vowel and ends with a vowel, reverse all the letter and then write the
sign.

IV: If any word starts with a consonant and ends with a consonant, change the sign of the vowels to
‘>’.

V: If word has repeating letters, change the sign of repeating letters to the last letter of the word.

Note: We will sequentially apply all the cases as per the original word i.e., Case I will be applied first,
followed by Case II, and so on.

Case V: If any resultant has 2 or more same signs after applying any or all of the above-given cases
then interchange the codes of the 3rd and 4th letters.

Note: We will sequentially apply all the cases i.e. Case I will be applied first, followed by Case II, and
so on.

(v) If only one condition is applied among the above given, then the code of the first letter is
interchanged with code of the second letter and third letter code interchanged with 4th letter and so
on after that applied condition.

Rest of the letters will be coded as place value of the letters according to the alphabetical series. If the
place value of any letter is 2 digit number then subtract the 2 digits within the number (for ex: W= 23 ,
3-2=1 , so code for W is 1)

Condition 1: If the sum of the numbers in the code of a word is an odd number then 2 is subtracted
from each odd digit of the code and 1 is subtracted from each even digit of the code.

Condition 2: If the sum of the numbers in the code of a word is an even number then all the even
digits will be written on the left side of the code of that word in ascending order.

Condition 3: If there are more than four symbols in the code of a word then each prime digit in the
code of that word will be subtracted from 9.

I. If the word starts with a vowel and ends with a vowel, then the codes for these two vowels will be
interchanged. However, this condition will not be applicable if the starting and ending letters are
same.

II. If the word contains two same vowels consecutively, the code for first vowel will be the code for
immediate next letter of that vowel in English alphabetical series while the second vowel will be
coded according to the given table.

III. If the word contains two same consonants consecutively, the first consonant will be coded
according to the given table while the code for second consonant will be the code for immediate
previous letter of that consonant in English alphabetical order.

Conditions II and III will not be applicable if the repetitive letters appear more than twice in the word
(the repeated letters may or may not be consecutive).

The positions of the letter in a word are considered from left to right. If more than one condition is
applicable, then the conditions are to be applied in the given order, i.e. condition (i) followed by

Condition II: If there are repeated vowels in the word, replace the signs of all the repeated vowels
with @.

Condition III: If the word has only one vowel, interchange the signs of the first and last letters.

Condition IV: If the word starts with a consonant and ends with a vowel, replace the sign of both with
its second succeeding letter as per the English alphabetical order

Condition V: If none of the above conditions apply, replace the sign of each letter with its immediately
preceding letter in the English alphabetical order.

Note: If more than one condition applies, apply them sequentially — Condition I first, followed by
Condition II, and so on.
