Reflection
Writing my third argumentative essay was a completely different experiment compared to
the first two and in many ways, it showed me how much I’ve grown as a writer throughout the
semester. When I first started, writing argumentative essays this semester, I often felt
overwhelmed by the assignment’s structure, the research process, and even it’s tiny details.
However, by the time I finish writing this third essay, everything felt more natural and smoother.
The lectures helped me understand the writing progress in a much clearer way, especially when it
comes to organizing my ideas and supporting them with evidence.
The added help I got from the writing center, throughout the semester played a significant
role in my progress. I picked up new strategies on how to make my thesis more focused how to
find stronger proof and how to order my paragraphs so my argument flow. Those skills
eventually came together in this essay.
Another important skill I improved on when writing this essay was properly including my
accessed dated for my cited sources. In earlier essays I struggle with remembering to insert my
access dates onto my sources. Adding these details into my work sided page felt much more
straightforward, and I felt confidence that my citations were both accurate and complete.
Overall authoring this essay felt less stressful and much more controlled because of
everything I have learned from the lectures from the writing center, and from becoming more
