Schedule Background Jobs in SAP SM36

To schedule a background job, first identify the T-code (e.g., MB52) and create a variant for it. Then, find the corresponding program, schedule the job using transaction SM36, and set the start conditions. Finally, check the job status in SM37 and optionally trigger the report to a mail ID.

BACKGROUND JOB

For scheduling background Job we need to follow few steps

[Link] the T-code for which background job need to schedule

[Link] variant for the T code

[Link] the programme for the T code

[Link] the background Job using -SM36

[Link] the status of the job using-SM37

[Link] the T code

MB52

Give a input as plant and now save as variant

Now click on save Bottom


Variant Name-MB52-BACK

[Link] the Programme


[Link] the Background Job using SM36

Here give the job name and select step for next process
In name provide the programme name and select the variant which we created

After check and save it will show

Now select on start condition


We have multiple option

[Link] immediately to check result now

[Link] weekly/Montly/Hourly and periodic value as per the requirement

Once we save system status will show Released.


Now we need to check the result in SM37
SELECT ON THE SPOOL

This report we can also trigger to mail id.
