Part 1: Home Tab Practice
Step 1: Create Your Practice Document
Open a new Word file and type or paste the following short passage:
Technology shapes our world in both visible and invisible ways. Every click, message, and
search leaves a digital footprint. While it connects us across distances, it also challenges us to
balance time, privacy, and human connection.
Step 2: Formatting Practice (Font Group)
Use this passage to practice your formatting tools:
1. Change the font style to Cambria and set the font size to 12 pt.
2. Make the first sentence bold and the last sentence italic.
3. Highlight the word “Technology” in yellow.
4. Change the font color of “digital footprint” to blue.
5. Use Superscript to type “2² = 4” at the end of the paragraph.
6. Remove all formatting using the Clear All Formatting button.
Step 3: Paragraph Practice
Now add a new paragraph of your own — maybe something about your daily routine or a hobby
then try:
Center-align your paragraph.
Adjust line spacing to 1.5.
Add a border around your paragraph (Home → Paragraph → Borders → Outside
Borders).
Convert your paragraph into a numbered list.
Use the Sort tool to rearrange the list alphabetically.
Step 4: Styles
1. Type a heading at the top: Personal Practice Document
2. Apply the style Heading 1 to it.
3. Change the style color to dark blue and make it bold.
4. Apply the Normal style to your paragraphs.
Step 5: Editing Tools
Use Find and Replace to practice:
Find the word world and replace it with planet.
Try using Ctrl + F, Ctrl + H, and Ctrl + A (Select All).
Part 2: Insert → Table Practice
Step 1: Create a Table
1. Go to Insert → Table → 4 × 4.
2. Add this sample data (you can modify or randomize names if you like):

Omar Sales 70 Satisfactory
Step 2: Format the Table
Now practice table formatting:
1. Merge the top row and type Employee Performance Report.
2. Center the title, make it bold, and color it dark blue.
3. Apply shading to the header row (light gray).
4. Center-align all text in the table.
5. Insert a new row below the last one, and add one more record.
6. Add borders around the entire table.
7. Change the table style to a grid design (Table Design → Table Styles).
Part 3: Mini Challenge (Full Practice Task)
Try completing this all in one document
1. Create a title: MS Word Assessment Practice (Heading 1, centered, bold).
2. Type three short paragraphs about education, technology, and teamwork (use
=lorem(3,4) if you want filler text).
3. Format each paragraph differently:
o One justified, one left-aligned, one right-aligned.
o Use different font colors.
4. Highlight five words in total with yellow.
5. Create a table with 5 rows × 3 columns named “Project Summary”.
6. Add random but meaningful data (like Project Name, Deadline, Status).
7. Apply table borders, shading, and center alignment.
8. Use Find and Replace to change one word throughout the document.
9. Save it as Word_Practice_YourName.docx.
