1. What Is AI slop?

a. AI slop is basically just low quality AI content that is used sometimes for
nefarious purposes
2. Why Is AI slop a problem?
a. AI slop is a problem because it can confuse many people and make it seem
like things that didn’t happen happened. This can cause chaos, confusion,
and legal issues.
3. What are some real-life examples of AI slop (from the article or from your
own experiences)
a. In my experience, many reels or short videos I come upon when scrolling are
examples of AI slop. For example, I’ve seen AI videos coaches from some
losing College Football teams (like Ohio State or Georgia, etc.) cursing at
reporters and going insane, when in reality nothing of the sort ever
happened
4. How Can You Tell If a Video Is Real?
a. Ways you can tell if a video is real or AI is by looking for watermarks,
clear/unclear text or captions, odd sound or voice effects that don’t really
seem real, or odd little visual details that don’t really make sense
5. Why are AI videos harder to detect today?
a. AI videos are harder to detect nowadays because AI has improved
exponentially since its birth, and it has become smart enough to evade
simple detection
6. Why does AI slop spread quickly?
a. AI slop spreads quickly because its useful for “training” AI’s, as well as the
fact that many people who mistake AI slop for real content spread it with
people they know, believing it is some sort of crazy, ridiculous news or event
7. Which checklist tip is most useful for you?
a. The most useful checklist tip to me is “If something feels off, it probably is.”
My experience with AI slop is that I can’t necessarily set certain conditions
that if met make the video automatically AI; usually, I just get an odd feeling
or think like “this doesn’t seem right.” So I think this tip most applies to how I
detect AI.
