Quick Start eQUEST Introductory Tutorial
Installing eQUEST
Quick Start Visit [Link] or [Link]/eQUEST to
Before Starting download the latest version of eQUEST.
Installing
If you are installing eQUEST 3.65 or later and if a version of eQUEST with
Testing the same version number is already installed on your computer, uninstall the
Tour/Overview version on your machine before installing the new version (via Start/Control
Simulation Basics Panel/Add or Remove Programs). If older versions of eQUEST (i.e., earlier
Schematic Wizard version number) are currently installed on your computer, they do NOT have
DD Wizard to be uninstalled if you would prefer to retain them. Uninstalling eQUEST
Detailed Interface never deletes any eQUEST user project files. To install eQUEST 3.65, within
EEM Wizard Windows Explorer, double click the eQUEST [Link] file. Follow the
Parametric Runs installation wizard prompts. See the illustrations on the following pages.
Graphical Reports To better support Windows Vista & 7 users, since eQUEST version 3.62, the
Detailed Reports default installation location for most but not all eQUEST 3.65 files has
changed. Only the executable files (.exe, .dll, .ini, etc.) are now installed under
the Program Files directory, e.g., C:\Program Files\eQUEST 3-65. All other
eQUEST program files are stored in two new locations. eQUEST user project
files (e.g., PD2 and INP files) are stored in one location (see below) while all
eQUEST program data files (e.g., weather files, custom glass and utility rate
library files, tutorials and reference files, etc.) are stored in your “My
Documents” folder using two new eQUEST folders:
‘eQUEST 3-65 Data’ — contains eQUEST data folders and files
‘eQUEST 3-65 Projects’ — contains your eQUEST project folders and files
