METHOD OF STATEMENT (MOS) AND RISK ASSESSMENT FOR MEP WORKS

1. INTRODUCTION
This Method of Statement (MOS) and Risk Assessment describes the procedures, resources,
and safety controls required for the execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing
(MEP) works at the project site. It ensures compliance with safety standards, quality
requirements, and contract specifications.

2. SCOPE OF WORK
The MEP scope includes, but is not limited to:
• Electrical installations (cabling, conduits, distribution boards)
• Mechanical works (HVAC systems, ducting, chilled water piping)
• Plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, pumps)
• Firefighting (sprinklers, pumps, piping)
• ELV systems as applicable

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Project Manager – Overall project supervision and coordination
• Site Engineer – Execution of MEP works and technical compliance
• Safety Officer – Implementation of safety procedures and site monitoring
• QA/QC Engineer – Inspection, testing, and documentation
• Technicians/Workers – Safe execution of assigned activities

4. MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT


Materials:
• Approved cables, pipes, ducts, fittings, supports
• Approved pumps, panels, AHUs, FCUs, valves

Equipment/Tools:
• Hand and power tools
• Drilling machines
• Testing tools (multimeter, megger, flow meter)
• Ladders, scaffolding

5. METHOD OF WORK / PROCEDURE


1. Verify approved drawings and method statements.

2. Conduct site inspection and ensure work area readiness.

3. Deliver and inspect materials as per approved specifications.

4. Conduct toolbox talk and safety briefing.


5. Marking and layout of services.

6. Installation of conduits, pipes, ducts, supports, and equipment.

7. Cable pulling, connection, and termination.

8. Pressure/continuity/insulation resistance testing as required.

9. Equipment testing and commissioning.

10. Final inspection and documentation submission.

6. PPE REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory PPE includes:
• Safety helmet
• High visibility vest
• Protective footwear
• Gloves
• Safety goggles
• Hearing protection if required

7. RISK ASSESSMENT

• Provide first aid and call medical assistance if necessary.
