Quality of Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao Early

This study aims to assess how Early Childhood Education (ECE) students tranafer their
learning from their academic curriculum into practice teaching, specifically focusing on the three
types of transfer learning: positive, negative, and neutral. The study used descriptive design and
mixed method combining of quantitative and qualitative approach to explore the perceptions of
graduates and fourth-year students of ECE program in Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao with
regards to the to the transition of academic curriculum to practicum. However, purposive
sampling was used to select the participants involved 27 4th year ECE s.y. 2024-2025 and 12
ECE graduates batch 2023-2024 in Pambayang Dalubhasaan ng Marilao. Data was collected
through questionnaire in pen and paper format and Google Forms. The study findings revealed
that there is a significant connection between practicum experiences and academic learning in
lesson planning, communication skills, classroom management, child assessment, and
instructional delivery and were rated as "Highly Aligned". Additionally, the perceptions of the
positive transfer of academic learning to practicum was assessed as "Always" while in their
negative transfer were evaluate as "Rarely" then the neutral transfer rated as "Rarely". Moreover,

the perceived effectiveness of application of knowledge from academic to practicum in
terms of lesson planning, communication skills, classroom management, child assessment, and
instructional delivery were rated as "Very Effective". Also, there is a strong positive association
between pre-service teachers' academic training and their performance during practicum in
critical teaching areas. By cultivating these traits from the start, educational institution can
prepare educators for long-term success and increase overall teaching quality.
