Directions for Use:

1. Browse the available chart sections and choose which chart sections
to print. (I use eraser, Plan, Draft, Revise, Edit, Partner Conference,
Teacher Conference, Publish, Finished, and pencil point)
2. Print selected chart sections.
3. Glue sections together on cardstock or posterboard to make a
vertical poster. The eraser should go at the top and the pencil point
at the bottom. The sections you selected should be sequenced in
between the eraser and pencil point.
4. Laminate for durability, if desired.
5. Attach a loop of string to the back with tape in order to hang the
chart up on a hook or attach magnets to the back to hang the chart
up on a magnetic surface.
6. Create an individual magnet or clothespin labeled for each student.
7. Each time the class works on a writing project, students begin at the
top and move their way down the chart. As the students finish each
stage of the writing process, he or she should move the assigned
clothespin or magnet to the next step. Teacher should check
progress at the beginning of each work session and provide
support, as needed.
