Q1. A cylindrical bar magnet is kept along the axis of a circular coil and near it
as shown in Fig. Will there be any induced emf at the terminals of the coil,
when the magnet is rotated (a) about its own axis, and (b) about an axis
perpendicular to the length of the Coil magnet?

Q8. A circular copper disc 10 cm in radius rotates at 20π rad/s about an axis through its centre and perpendicular to the
disc. A uniform magnetic field of 0.2 T acts perpendicular to the disc. (i) Calculate the potential difference developed
between the axis of the disc and the rim. (ii) What is the induced current, if resistance of of the disc is 2Ω.

1. A pair of adjacent coil has a mutual inductance of 1.5H. If the current in one coil changes from 0 to
20A in 0.5s. what is the change of magnetic flux linkage with the another coil?
2. A small piece of metal wire is dragged across the gap between the pole pieces of a magnet in 0.5s. The
magnetic flux between the pole pieces is known to be 8 X 10-4Wb. Estimate the induced emf in the wire.
3. Current in the circuit falls from 5A to 0A in 0.1s. if an average emf of 200volt is induced. Calculate the
self induction of the circuit.
4. An air cored solenoid with length 30cm, area of cross section 25cm2 and number of turns 500 carries a
current of 2.5A. the current is suddenly switched off in a brief time of 10 -3s. How much is the average back
emf induced across the ends.
5. If the self inductance of the iron cored inductor increases from 0.01mH to 10mH on introducing the
iron core into it, what is the relative permeability of the core material used.
6. Two concentric circular coils of small radius r2 and other of large radius r1 are placed coaxially with
their centers coinciding. Obtain the mutual inductance of the arrangement.
7. How does the mutual inductance of the pair of coil get affected when –
(a) Copper sheet is placed between the coils
(b) Iron sheet is placed between the coils
(c) Distance between the pair of coil is increased

8. A rectangular wire frame of dimensions 8cm X 2cm is moved out from the region of uniform magnetic
field of 4 X 10-4T with a velocity of 2cm/s. Estimate the emf induced in the longer and the shorter arm
and also the time for which the emf remains there.
