TITLE: It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

CHARACTER NOTES

OLD MAN – Gentle and mysterious. Long hair partially covers his face, age unclear. Wears a
loose shirt, comfortable pants, and soft slippers. Quiet and calm presence, moves slowly,
slightly sleepy.

ART NOTES

● Style: Soft storybook feeling, clean pencil lines, semi-realistic, calm and magical tone.

● Linework: Gentle, rounded forms

● Panel shapes: Mostly rectangular panels, clear borders.

● Atmosphere: Rain falling outside; inside is warm, simple, and peaceful. Slight magical
mood through soft lighting.

PANEL 1

SHOT: Wide environmental shot – exterior at night.

Gentle rain falls into puddles, forming ripples across a quiet ground. No characters yet. The
mood is calm and slightly melancholic.

SFX (rain): pitter–patter–pat…

SHOT: Medium shot of OLD MAN sleeping on a sofa near a window.

He is lying on his side, covered with a blanket. His long hair hides his eyes. Rain outside casts
soft light patterns against the glass.

CAPTION: The old man is snoring.

Close-up of the OLD MAN’s peaceful face. He is asleep, relaxed expression, hair falling loosely
across his face.

SFX: snorrrre…

PANEL 4
(Third row, left – medium panel)

SHOT: Indoor scene, bedroom.

The OLD MAN is entering his bedroom, about to go to bed. He bumps his head on the edge of a
wooden bed frame. We mainly see his body bending down in pain, face partially out of frame.

CAPTION: He went to bed and bumped his head,

SHOT: Close-up dramatic inset.

OLD MAN’s hand holds his forehead. Little star shapes float around his head indicating
dizziness.

SFX: OUCH!

SFX (sparkle): twinkle

SHOT: Medium-wide interior shot – the bedroom at night.

The OLD MAN is now lying in bed, asleep, tucked under the blanket. Rain can be seen through
the window beside him. On the bedside table: a lamp, a book, and an alarm clock.

CAPTION: And couldn’t get up…

SHOT: Close-up of alarm clock showing early morning time.
