Notes
A triangle is a closed figure with three sides, three angles and three vertices, and the sum
of its interior angles is always 180°.
By sides
• Equilateral triangle: All three sides are equal and all three angles are equal, each angle
measuring 60°.
• Isosceles triangle: Two sides are equal in length and the angles opposite these equal
sides are also equal.
• Scalene triangle: All three sides are of different lengths and all three angles are also
different.
By angles
• Acute-angled triangle: All three interior angles are less than 90°.
• Right-angled triangle: One interior angle is exactly 90°, and the side opposite this angle
is called the hypotenuse.
• Obtuse-angled triangle: One interior angle is greater than 90°.
