PreFACe
The great aim of education is not only knowledge but also practical action. The knowledge
of engineering is not completed by only theory but also the practical knowledge is
essential. We can correlate the technical knowledge to the practical knowledge with the
help of industrial training.
Keeping in view this fact reputed engineering colleges and universities have given the
importance of the practical knowledge in there syllabus. The training basic aim is follows-

Angel Coating was established in the year 2006 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat by -[Link] Patel with a broad
vision of growth by providing a "Global and High-Quality Product." During the journey of nearly 18 years, it
is grown into one of the major players in wood coatings, automotive refinish, industrial and high-
performance coating, decorative, melamine/wood guard Insulating Varnish, and other specialized
coatings, with a yearly manufacturing of 25 tons and a strong and hardworking manpower of 3 to With the
successful turnover ratio, the unit again expanded, and a brand new unit was introduced in the year 2009
at Kathwada GIDC Road. Later, Mr. Vishal Karkar (Patel), the younger brother of Mr. Vipul Patel, joined
"Angel Coating" in the same year with his mastery of "surface coating technology" and introduced a
variety of paints with optimum usage of the latest technology.
Again, a new unit was required to be established in the same year due to tremendous response of
customers and their increasing demand for the same.
The new and current unit was established at Indore Express Highway, Bakrol Bujarang GIDC. A wide
range of Auto Paint was offered all around the country in more than 17 different states of India. We at
Angel Coating share this success with our growing staff of 30 employees then and various different types
of Technical Machineries
Now It was the time when the company had started surpassing the growth phase and entered the
maturity stage, where, to redefine the brand, a new logo was introduced so as to match the standards of
our brand. Also in the same year, we expanded our business overseas with exponential growth which was
marketed by various dealers due to higher demand. A new highly skilled team was appointed so that the
research and development department could focus more on the new technologies and further introduce
them into our company, which resulted in the arrival of auto refinish products as a part of our introduce

As of now, the company has started facing a yearly turnover of 900 to 1200 tons manufacturing with the
help of highly skilled staff members. As described earlier Since the past 18 years of dedicated hard work
and immeasurable success, the company has now reached a stage where all the advanced machinery is
required so as to maintain the technical quality of our products to compete and stand out as one of the
most successful paint companies. As more and more research

PAint
Paint is any liquid , liquefiable or mastic composition which, After application to a substrate in a
thin layer is converted to a Solid film . it is most commonly used to protect, colour or Provide
texture.
Paint is a mechanical dispersion of pigment into vehicle, which Is applied as a thin layer , which
further solidifies to a hard film Over substance .IT protects the surface from chemical &
Mechanical stresses. It also provided smooth finish and Appearance to the surface. The
manufacture of paints, Distemper and enamels involves a few unit operation and no Unit
processes. Of course, the manufacture of ingredients such As pigment and resins involves
chemical reaction and therefore Unit processes.
The formation of protective coatings by paints & distemper Involves the production of films of the
order of 1mm (1/1000 Inch) thick on surfaces. In general, the requirement for such Surface
coatings include the following:-
1- Hiding power

4- Anti corrosive properties
5- Weather resistance
6- Consistency suited to application (by brushing , Dipping, spraying or roller coating)

Paint manufacture requires several raw material , which include binder ,Pigment, Solvent,
Drier,Plastisizer,stainers and additives etc.
❖ COMPONENTS
➢ BINDER AND RESIN:-
PVC granules with a [Link] are stove and the
[Link] films are formed by cooling of the binder. The binder,commonly called the
vehicle, is the film forming component of paint. It is the only component that must be present. The
binder impart adhesion and strongly influences such properties as flexibility and toughness.
Binder include synthetic or natural resin such as alkyd,acrylic,vinyl-acrylics,vinyl
acetate/ethylene,polyurethane,polyester,oil ,binder can be categorized according to the
mechanisms for drying and curing. Paints that dry by solvent evaporation and contain the solid
binder dissolved in a solvent are know as lacquers. A solid film forms when the solvent
evaporates.
➢ DILUTENT OR SOLVENT:-
The main purpose of the dil. Are to dissolve the polymer and
adjust the viscosity of paint. It also controls flow and application
properties, and in some cases can effect the stability of the paint while liquid state.
It main function is an the carrier for the non-volatile Components. To spread heavier oils(for ex-
linseed oil) as in Oil-based interior house paint, a thinner oil is required. Water is the main dil. For
the water-borne paints, even the Co-solvent types.
➢ PIGMENT OR FILLERS:-
Pigment are granular solid incorporated in the paint to
contribute colour. Filler are granular solid incorporate to impart toughness, texture, give the paint
special properties, or to reduce the cost of the paint. Pigment can be classified as either natural
and synthetic. Natural pigment include various clay,calcium,carbonate, mica, silica. Synthetic
would include calcium carbonate, zinc sulphide, lithopone, iron [Link] are a special type of
pigment that serve to thick the film, support it’s structure and increase the volume of paint. Fillers
are usually cheap and inert material, such as talc, lime, clay etc. Not all paints include fillers.
Some pigment are toxic, such as the lead pigments that are used in lead paint. Paint
manufacturers began replacing white lead pigments with titanium dioxide, before lead was
banned in paint for residential use in 1978 by the US consumer product safety commission. The
titanium dioxide used in most paint today is often coated with silica/alumina/zirconium for various
reasons, such as better exterior durability, or better hiding performance.
➢ ADDITIVES:-
Besides the three main categories of ingredients, paint can have a wide
variety of miscellaneous additives, which are usually added in small amount, yet provide a
significant effect on the product. Some examples include additives to modify surface
tension, improve flow properties, improve the finished appearance, increase wet edge,
improve pigment stability, impart antifreeze properties, control foaming etc. Other type of
additive include catalysts, thickeners, stabilizer, emulsifiers, texturizers, UV stabilizers,
biocides to fight bacterial growth, and the like.
➢ STAINERS:-
Stainers are the different shades of paints of basis colour which are added to
the paints to achieve different shades of paints.
PAint mAnUFACtUring ProCess
• GRINDING:- It most important process in this process we add raw material in Pug mixer and some
power come from silo in the hopper from into pug mixer. It take time about to grinding 2 Hours.
• LETDOWN:- In this process the paint raw material as-resin, solvent, pigment, drier, additives is
combined and mixed. This is called the let down. When the letdown and the mill base are
completed, the mill base is added with stirring to the letdown.
• MIXING:- In this process the slurry is made by adding after letdown process raw material in high
speed mixing having the rpm of 1000 round per minute in starting of every product the slurry is
made in pug mixer.
• DISPERSION:- A pigment dispersion in a concentrated from is a uniform distribution of very fine
colour pigment particle in a suitable medium .Such a dispersion is normally used for pigment
mixed in a carrier. And given a uniformly colour.
• THINNING:- In this process the slurry which is thick in place in mixer for thinning process which
make the slurry of constant size.
• EMULSION:- This is an important process in this is the slurry the emulsion come from tank
through pipe contact to the pug mixer.
• QUALITY CHECK:- Now the formed product is gone for its quality checking formed products is
passed through various check before going to packing and if the product is as per standard then its
send filling and packing.
• FILLING:-Filling is an operation carried out in order to put the final finished distemper in buckets
of different sizes. The packaging is a very significant step in complete process of manufacture
paints. We can see how packaging is important-
1- First step is print on buckets from printing machine there different sizes buckets some are (1
kg,2 kg,5 kg, 10kg, 20kg).
2- Next step is that to fit the machine in pug mixer properly check all instruments are working
properly.
3- Next step is that set weight in the machine which let out the paints.
4- Then filling is done properly in the buckets is packed.
5- Then buckets is kept on the pilet then paint is send in the store room of company.

EXPERIENCE . I GOT OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN STIFF SECTION AND VARIOUS DEPARTMENT OF
PRODUCTION.
• PRODUCT SPECIFICATION ARE DECIDED AS PER MARKET REQUIRMENT AND ACCORDINGLY
FORMULATION IS DEVELOPED IN R & D, WHICH IS THEN SENT TO PRODUCTIONFOR BULK
MANUFACTURING.
• VARIOUS TYPE OF PAINTS ARE PRODUCED AT PUSHKER PAINT [Link]
COATING ARE MANUFACTURED WITH STRICT QUALITY VIGILANCE THROUGH OUT THE
PROCESS.
