10 Differences are: direction of blood flow and presence of valves; 2
arteries carry blood away from the heart and lack valves, while veins carry
blood towards the heart and possess valves to prevent backflow. Additionally,
arteries have thicker, more muscular walls to withstand high pressure, whereas
veins have thinner walls and a wider lumen.
OR
In human digestion, salivary amylase begins breaking down carbohydrates in
the mouth, pepsin digests proteins in the stomach, trypsin continues protein
digestion in the small intestine, and lipase breaks down fats in the small
intestine.

Attempt either part A or B
A. Father has mismatched pair of 23rd chromosome so males produce two 2
different types of gametes so contributing to sex determination. Or
B. Female gametes produced are genetically same as there are XX 2
chromosomes in 23rd pair resulting in formation of same type of
gametes. 1
C. 23

(a) catenation: The ability to form a covalent bond by combining with other
carbon
(b) Tetra valancy of carbon.
2.a) Compound A is ethanoic acid CH3COOH
b) CH3COOH + C2H5OH______________> CH3COOC2H5 + H2O
c) Ethanoic acid Ethyl Ethanoate (Ester)
CH3COOC2H5 + H2O--------------CH3COOH + C2H5OH

OR
B.1. A [Link] series is a group of organic compounds with the same
functional group, similar chemical properties, where each member differs from
the next by a -CH2 unit.
The first two members of the ketone homologous series are propanone with the
molecular formula C3H6O and butanone with the molecular formula C4H8O.

The electric lamp, the toaster and the water filter connected in parallel to
a 220 V source can be shown as using a circuit diagram as follows:

The equivalent resistance of the resistors can be calculated as follows:

The resistance of the electric iron box is 31.25 Ω.

B. i) (a) To obtain a total resistance of 4Ω, the 3Ω and 6Ω resistors are

connected in parallel, and this combination is then connected in series with the
2Ω resistor.
(b) To obtain a total resistance of 1Ω, all three resistors (2Ω, 3Ω, and 6Ω)
are connected in parallel.

ii) (a) Because its melting point is very high.

(b) Series arrangement is not used for domestic circuits as current to all
appliances remain same in spite of different resistance and every appliance
cannot be switched on/ off independently.

(c) Resistance of a wire is inversely proportional to its cross-section area.
