“What if furniture felt alive?
”
Comfort comes from adaptability, not flatness
The chair is not just functional it has character
The chair’s form was developed through sketching and researches, focusing on
how the human body interacts with irregular surfaces.
Our chair can exist comfortably between object, sculpture, and seat
We had to research coral growth, biological repetition to understand how natural
systems achieve structural stability and softness through accumulation rather than
singular elements
So we came to the conclusion that repetition and density can replace conventional
padding and solid mass
Materials
Cylindrical moduls
Metallic structure
Fabric Covering
metal base provides structural support and fabric covering softens its visual side and presence
Structural Research a rigid metal base stabilizes the design while allowing formal
freedom above
As for ergonomics and pressure points our chair design has vertical module
pressure distribution and adaptive contact surface so we thought that maybe the
surface should adapt to the body rather than enforcing posture
