1.“He is very careful and loving, and hardly lets me stir without special direction. "(page 2 ).

Based on the narrator's words about John's acts, we could see John carefully bear the

narrator's nervous depression by precisely planning up an hourly detailed schedule per day.

"He said we came here solely on my account, that I was to have perfect rest and all the air I

could get” (page 2 ) and "your exercise depends on your strength, my dear, and your food

somewhat on your appetite; but air you can absorb all the time. " (page 2). We could see John

was willing to put effort and finance to find a fresh environment with an affordable house for

the wife's healing process.

2."John says if I don't pick up faster he shall send me to Weir Mitchell in the fall." This

sounds like an adult trying to scare a naughty kid to me, which is eerie and unsensible

sinceJohn's wife is an actual grown up, moreover, I do believe the wife still has a sound

consciousness to acknowledge what is right and what is wrong. To prove that, "... and am

absolutely forbidden to "work" until I am well again. Personally, I disagree with their ideas.

Personally, I believe that congenial work, with excitement and change, would do me good.”.

Both professional physicians who are her husband and her brother deprive her of working

which specifically keeps her in the house. We could say John illegally captures his wife,

controlling her daily basis and those are considered as purposely taking away somebody's

rights of freedom. Furthermore, those activities that are selected by John for his wife's daily

schedules are extremely unhealthy and inefficient, for instance, "Indeed he started the habit

by making me lie down for an hour after each meal. "

[Link] A: Personally, I think Mrs. Mallard has been through multiple complex emotions after

learning her husband's death.,However, readers could clearly witness a bloom of both

relieved and joyful attitude realizing she can live and get back controlling her own life. To
demonstrate this, the author has described this paragraph into a springtime scene, specifically,

a description of a start of spring season. This significantly emphasizes the thoughts as were as

the feeling of freedom that Mrs. Mallard has been hiding and forgetting those, davestingly

waiting one day, she could release that version of herself and now it happens. This possibly

may turn her into a "bad person"in people's lense, yet for those who don't have a clear view

points of what actually happened in Mrs. Mallard's life. Mrs. Mallard is not a bad person in

my eyes, infact, I don't think I should judge somebody's appearance or emotions to determine

their personality or their life. At one part, Mrs. Mallard said sometimes she loves her

husband, and sometime she doesn't, I do believe no one can comprehensively understand

what happens in a relationship, other than those who stay in that relationship and for Mrs.

Mallard, I truly believe she appreciates and loves her independence more than she loves her

husband. Due to this, I don't think she passes away because of the overload of joy knowing

her husband's death, but because of the sadness of knowing how she always put other on top

other than herself, because of a sense of pettiness for herself when her husband's death

ironically hit her a realization of how much loves she always wants to give for herself.

Part B: The overwhelmed dependence is the first negative influence that comes to my mind.

People become “a daily habit" of somebody else who stays long enough in a relationship,

people get used to the existence of the significant other. Even though the others treat them

badly and they consciously notice the toxic signs, they choose to stay and keep hoping the

other will change one day. The problem here is that people can not bear to face differences if

the others leave. However, that is the necessary challenge for people to heal and once they

have come to the point where they are having a much more healthy "daily basis without the

others, that is when people realize they finally get rid of a burden which they used to, put

hope on. I keep thinking of children as the reason why some relationships want to end but can
not. It sounds bad and pitiful to the child, knowing him/herself is the reason for a relationship

that is supposed to end. Personally, if it is an unhealthy relationship, choosing to leave is

always a good choice for both the child and the parents.

4. "It's part being a human"said Katie Hood when she stated 100% of us will possibly both

use and be received unhealthy love. It is true that we are not perfectly perfect yet it is possible

for us to keep learning, acknowledge and most importantly, improve those unsound

behaviors. Two things I personally intrigued and prioritize in the video are words are

incredibly powerful and mutual communication is highly essential. Getting to know each

other has a sense of personality, beliefs, strengths, weaknesses, and beyond those, every

species has their own languages. The reason Why words are powerful is because it is a daily

tool for every single person, it can serve as "a double sword". If we let our impulsive, hatred,

impatience and ignorance mind control how we talk to others, words can be selected as

“harmful weapons" and it can severely damage the listener as well as the speaker. For those

who have been through verbal abuse, this strains the victim's energy who often get involved

in these abusive situations daily and it also dangerously enhances to an intense extent that

victims' mental health is no longer balanced, eventually leading to many self lethal acts.

Using insulting, harassing words are one of the signs that showing the abuser has unsound

mental health. I truly believe the more abusive words are used the more possibilities the

person honestly feels about themselves. To understand more than one perspective, we need

mutual communication skills. Mutual communication necessarily applies to every

relationship, between loved partners, colleagues, family members, friends, ect. Expressing

needs, questions, feelings are always important, because again, we are not perfect at all, no

one understands us if we don’t use words and we should not assume people know what we

want.
5. "The Silent Heroes of World War I was indicated for the brave French citizen presented by

Dan Miele's group. I couldn't agree more with this nickname. Great and bold ordinary French

citizens strongly came along with the most unexpected ideas. Some show up with gradual yet

effective, strong and clever resistances in the Nightingale. In chapter 9, we can see a small

but extremely dangerous act from Isabelle, she sneakily uses a chalk that she picks up earlier

to draw a big letter V for victory on Germany's propaganda. Because of this bold act, Isabelle

luckily finds a group of people whose huge desire is the same as hers. Henri Navarre is one of

the crucial members, he asks Isabelle if she wants to be a paper runner, spreading tracts,

getting the French to wake up for the resistance. Later on, she is asked to be a letter box in

Paris (chapter 13), this is when she joins another French resistance group in Paris, Monsieur

Levy is one of the Leaders (chapter 16). Another risky mission comes in here, this group help

British as well as other countries airmen who fall down as the German, to get back to the

British consulate, on foot, with the purpose get these airmen back to work, fight back the

Germans. This is actually Isabelle's idea though it sounds impossible but they're risking their

life to do this mission. After this, Isabelle's dad is the one who forges her identity card, doing

the print with all this time (chapter 18).
