Career Path Development in IT/Robotics/Computer
Engineering & Electronics

This report outlines a comprehensive 5-year career plan to transition into the high-demand,
interdisciplinary field of Robotics Engineering, specializing in Human-Robot Interaction
(HRI) and Autonomous Systems. The career vision is strategically positioned within the
rapidly growing Aerospace/Logistics automation sectors. This plan meticulously identifies the
core technical skills—C++, ROS/ROS2, and AI/ML—required for success. By synthesizing
academic coursework with targeted certifications and professional internships, this roadmap
ensures a proactive approach to skill acquisition, directly addressing current job market trends
and securing a competitive professional advantage in the future of IT and Robotics.

My desired career role in the next 5-10 years is Robotics Engineer with a specialisation in
Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) and Autonomous Systems.
Role Description & Specialisation

I envision working in the Aerospace/Logistics sectors, designing and implementing the

control algorithms and AI frameworks that enable robots to operate safely and intelligently in
complex, unpredictable environments (e.g., autonomous factory floors, drone delivery
networks, or space exploration robotics). This specialization sits at the convergence of
Computer Engineering (software architecture, real-time operating systems like ROS/RTOS),
Robotics (kinematics, controls), and IT (data processing, cloud infrastructure).

My day-to-day focus will be on:

1. AI/ML Integration: Developing computer vision and reinforcement learning models

for robot perception and decision-making.
2. Control System Development: Programming robust, real-time embedded systems in
languages like C++, C and Python.
3. HRI Interface Design: Creating intuitive and safe human-robot collaboration
protocols

Rationale for Choice

This choice is driven by a strong conviction that the most transformative technological
frontier lies in autonomous systems that seamlessly interact with human workers, a concept
central to Industry 4.0. The global robotics process automation market is projected for
dramatic growth towards 2030, creating a high demand for engineers who can integrate
hardware, software, and AI ethics. This role leverages my core skills in Computer
Engineering while allowing me to specialize in the advanced electronics and control theory
that govern physical automation. This provides a technically challenging, ethically relevant,
and high-growth professional pathway

Section 2: Required Knowledge and Skills
