A project proposal for Barangay Concepcion Banahaw, Sariaya Quezon

➢ RATIONALE

Barangay Concepcion Banahaw, located in Sariaya, Quezon, is a

community known for its peaceful and beautiful environment. However, its

remote location poses challenges in accessing healthcare services,

particularly during emergencies. This barangay has limited medical

equipment, struggles in transportation, and has a longer distance from

hospitals. With these problems, it is essential for the residents to develop

basic first aid knowledge and skills. Without having insights for some

fundamental skills, it can harm not just people but also many emergencies

worsen due to the lack of immediate care, putting lives at risk.

Emergencies can happen at any time, anywhere, and having the ability

to respond promptly and effectively can make the difference between life and

death. Unfortunately, many individuals lack the basic knowledge to provide

immediate care, leaving them as bystanders in critical situations. This gap in

preparedness can result in preventable loss of life or prolonged suffering

before professional help arrives.

The project, “From Bystander to Responder; A First Aid Initiative,”

seeks to address these challenges by equipping the residents of Barangay

Concepcion Banahaw with essential first aid skills. By fostering a culture of

emergencies, the initiative aims to create a safer and more resilient

community where lives are valued and protected

➢ OBJECTIVES

This proposal aims to equip the residents of Barangay Concepcion

Banahaw, Sariaya, Quezon, with basic first aid knowledge and skills to

improve emergency response and promote community safety.

At the end of the project, the proponents should be able:

1. To educate residents on the fundamental principles and techniques of

first aid.

2. To enhance the community’s ability to respond effectively during

medical emergencies.

3. To promote a culture of preparedness and safety awareness among

the members of the barangay.

4. To reduce the risks of preventable injuries and fatalities by empowering

individuals with essential life-saving skills.

5. To address challenges such as limited medical equipment and delayed

access to healthcare services by fostering self-reliance during

emergencies.

➢ PROJECT BENEFICIARIES

The primary beneficiaries of the project “From Bystander to Responder;

A First Aid Initiative” that would be conducted in Brgy. Concepcion Banahaw,

Sariaya Quezon would be the following:

• Residents of the community: This group would gain the most immediate

benefits. In remote locations like Brgy. Concepcion Banahaw, access to

medical services may be constrained, and first aid skills may be essential in

case of emergencies such as natural disasters, accidents, or unanticipated

medical conditions.

• Local Community Leaders: Giving community leaders, like barangay

officials and teachers, first aid training can greatly improve their capacity to

act quickly in emergency situations and offer people in need first aid.
• School Children: Incorporating first aid education into lessons can provide

children life-saving skills they can use for the rest of their lives.

Emergency medical care availability and efficiency can be greatly

impacted by limited access to medical facilities because of lack of resources,

transportation issues, or distance. Training in first aid enables people to fill

this gap by offering vital care until trained medical assistance can be brought

in. Additionally, by teaching community members life-saving techniques, it

promotes self-sufficiency and readiness. Residents of Brgy. Concepcion

Banahaw may live far better lives overall as a result of this improved capacity

to respond to catastrophes, lessening the effects of diseases and accidents.

➢ PROJECT DURATION

The training for the project “From Bystander to Responder: A First Aid

Initiative” is proposed to be held on May 20, 2025, at the barangay hall of

Concepcion Banahaw, Sariaya, Quezon. Before implementation of these

projects, asking permission will be sought from the Barangay officials and the

Sangguniang Kabataan to ensure their support and collaboration. Their

assistance will be helpful in organizing the venue and to the community for

successful participation in the project.

➢ PROJECT LOCATION

The general objectives of this project proposal is to educate the

community members of Brgy. Concepcion Banahaw, Sariaya Quezon basic

the said area since it matched the proponents specific objectives.

This proposal aims to educate residents in brgy concepcion Banahaw,

Sariaya Quezon since it is somehow a remote area far from establishments

particularly hospitals, health care centers and more. Some of the most

common problems in a place like this is medical equipments, transportation

and more which is very crucial when emergency happens. That is why the

proponents wants to help and teach community members how to effectively

tend to emergencies and personally perform first aid to their fellow community

members

➢ PLAN OF ACTIONS

ACTIVITY 1: SUBMISSION OF FORMAL PROPOSAL

Date: APRIL 20, 2025; one month before conducting the project

First, the proponents will submit a formal proposal to the

Sangguniang Kabataan and Barangay officials of Barangay

Concepcion Banahaw, seeking their approval and support for the

project. After securing permission, the proponents will plan the details

of the training, including where, when, and how the sessions will take

place. Second, the proponents will coordinate with trained healthcare

professionals or certified first aid instructors to facilitate the training

sessions. Once arrangements are confirmed, the proponents will

disseminate information about the project through announcements,

posters, and social media to encourage community participation.

Date: MAY 20, 2025

The training for the project “From Bystander to Responder: A

First Aid Initiative” is proposed to be held on May 20, 2025, at the

barangay hall of Concepcion Banahaw, Sariaya, Quezon.

On the scheduled date, the venue will be set up with all

necessary training materials and equipment. Lastly, after the training

sessions, participants will be evaluated on their understanding and

skills, certificates of completion will be distributed, and feedback will be

gathered for documentation and assessment to improve future

initiatives.

➢ EXPECTED OUTPUT/ OUTCOMES

The expected outcome of this project is to equip the community

members of Brgy. Concepcion Banahaw with essential first aid knowledge

and skills, enabling them to respond effectively to emergencies. Proponents

and participants will gain practical experience in life-saving techniques,

improving their preparedness for medical situations. The project aims to

educate individuals for safety and self-reliance within the community, reducing

the risks associated with delayed medical care. Additionally, participants will

become more aware of the importance of first aid in creating a safer

environment, contributing to a good, and ensuring that they’re ready to

respond during an emergency situation.
