🟠 Essay 1 – Band 6.0
Nowadays, it is seen that young people are not interested in political and social activities. This is
becoming a serious problem. In this essay, I will explain why it is happening and what can be
done to improve this situation.
First of all, young people think politics is boring. They do not see any benefit in joining political
discussions or voting. Also, many politicians are corrupt, so young people don’t trust them. This
makes them stay away from politics. Another reason is social media. Young people spend more
time online, and they don’t want to join real life social events.
To fix this, schools should teach students about politics and community work. If young people
learn how their actions can change society, they will be more interested. Also, politicians should
speak in a language that young people understand. They should use social media to connect with
the youth.
In conclusion, young people are not active in politics because of boredom, mistrust, and internet
use. To change this, schools and politicians need to do more to include them.

Essay 2 – Band 7.0
In recent years, there has been a noticeable decline in young people’s involvement in civic and
political activities. This essay will explore the causes of this trend and suggest some ways to
encourage greater participation.
One major reason for this issue is that politics today often seems disconnected from the real lives
of young people. Many young individuals believe that their opinions are not valued and that
political systems are controlled by elites. Furthermore, the rise of digital technology has shifted
attention away from traditional forms of engagement, such as voting or attending public
meetings, to online platforms that may not require real-world action.
To encourage participation, governments and educational institutions should promote civic
education. When students understand how political systems work and how they can influence
decisions, they may feel more motivated to get involved. Moreover, using social media and
digital campaigns can help reach young people in a more engaging way. Politicians could also
create youth councils or forums where young voices are genuinely heard.
In summary, the lack of engagement stems from disconnection and lack of trust. However,
through education and better communication, youth involvement in society can be improved.

Essay 3 – Band 8.0
The declining engagement of young people in civic and political spheres has become a
concerning social issue. This essay will explore the key reasons behind this shift and propose
practical strategies to address it.
A primary cause of this disengagement is the widespread perception among youth that their
voices are insignificant within the current political framework. Many feel alienated by
institutions that appear outdated, unresponsive, or driven by self-interest. Additionally, the rise
of digital culture has encouraged passive consumption of information over active participation.
While young people may discuss societal issues online, this rarely translates into concrete civic
action.
To reverse this trend, early and continuous civic education is essential. Schools should not only
teach political theory but also involve students in real-life democratic practices, such as debates,
mock elections, or community projects. Furthermore, political leaders must modernize their
outreach, engaging with young audiences through platforms they already use—like Instagram or
TikTok—while ensuring transparency and accountability. This can help rebuild trust and
demonstrate that young perspectives do matter.
In conclusion, youth disengagement stems largely from disillusionment and digital distraction.
However, through inclusive education and reform in political communication, their active
participation can be revitalized.

minor errors. (Band 8)
Essay 4 – Band 9.0
The modern world is witnessing a troubling decline in youth engagement in civic and political
life—a phenomenon that threatens the future of participatory democracy. This essay will
critically examine the root causes of this disengagement and propose sustainable solutions to
restore active involvement among the younger generation.
A significant contributor to this issue is the erosion of trust in political institutions. Young people
often perceive politics as dominated by corruption, bureaucracy, and a lack of meaningful
change, leading to cynicism and apathy. Additionally, while the digital era has increased access
to information, it has also fostered a form of "slacktivism"—superficial online engagement that
rarely leads to real-world impact. Moreover, many educational systems still treat civic
responsibility as a peripheral subject, failing to instill a deep sense of agency or belonging.
To address this, a multi-faceted approach is required. Firstly, civic education must be
modernized and embedded across curricula from an early age, emphasizing participatory
learning, critical thinking, and social responsibility. Secondly, governments and political
organizations should actively involve youth in decision-making processes through advisory
councils, participatory budgeting, and open forums. Finally, politicians must adopt transparent,
youth-oriented communication strategies that resonate with digital natives while avoiding
tokenism.
In conclusion, the disengagement of young people is a complex, systemic issue rooted in distrust
and disconnection. However, by reshaping education and governance structures to be more
inclusive, responsive, and empowering, we can nurture a new generation of active, informed
citizens.
