JOLLY AUDITION SCRIPT

9 INT. OYE! HOTEL. EVENING 9

Open to a shady hotel reception... a worn wooden desk at the


counter... Behind it stands, JOLLY, mid-40s, sporting a loud
floral shirt, open halfway down, and a garish gold chain.

Jolly shouts instructions to a hotel staff.

JOLLY
Oye...304 ki bedsheet change kar.
Do ghante wali booking thi!

That’s when the glass door opens. A GIRL in Hot pants and
stilettos walks inside. She approaches the reception counter.
The owner’s attention turns towards the girl as she stops in
front of the counter. It’s SALONI.

SALONI
Hi...Hotel Oye! yeh hi hai?

JOLLY
(scans her from top to
bottom, smiles)
Hai toh yehi par aapke aane se ab
oye hoye ho gaya hai!

SALONI
(blushes)
Ohhh!...Yahan par manager kaun
hai?

JOLLY
(Extends his hand)
Jolly Jalota. Myself Manager. At
your service. Always forever!
Kaun sa room dikhaaun madam?

She leans casually on the counter, elbows close together,


showing off her cleavage. Jolly's eyes keep going wider as
she keeps bending lower.

SALONI
Mujhe actually room nahin, ek
request karni thi Jolly ji!

Jolly’s eyes are glued on her.

JOLLY
Request??...
(lecherously smiles)
Aap toh ji order do bass!!

SALONI
(coyly)
Ohh...How sweet!...Main actually
apni ek friend ko dhoondh rahi
hoon.

Jolly scrutinizes Saloni closely....

JOLLY
Same here ji..

SALONI
You are very naughty Jolly
ji!...Sheila naam hai usska..kisi
ne bataya yahaan kaam karti hai..

JOLLY
Achcha?!...Oh Sheila...woh toh
yahan receptionist thi...badi
boring type thi...do hafte ki
chutti leke gayi thi...phir wapis
hi nahin aayi...Mujhe baithna
padhta hai yahan.

SALONI
Usska koi contact mil sakta hai?

JOLLY
Mil jaayega ji...if you don't
mind ooper chal ke baat karein?

SALONI
(shyly)
Main friends se hotel mein nahin,
ghar pe milti hoon.
(hands him a slip)
Aap yeh mera number le lijiye...

JOLLY
Achcha hai. Ghar pe thoda freely
kar paayenge na...baat cheet!

SALONI
Of course...wo Sheila ka number?

JOLLY
Mil gaya samjho!

She pivots on her heel, waves coyly, and struts out...

JOLLY (cont'd)
O naam toh bata do apna Madamji?

SALONI
(exiting the gate)
Selena!!

She steps out of the hotel and immediately dials a number.
